COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designated as 'Sample B', this coffee stout is the other offering for the 2008 Beer Lover's Choice Contest being run by Samuel Adams. Quite simply, this is being offered as "Ale with Coffee Beans", and nothing more to it.

Very good coffee stout. Strong flavor and aroma of roasted coffee. Still, smooth and delicious. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest.

Aroma is big coffee and roasted malts. pours black with a tan head. flavor is all the notes of coffee comming together with stout, but in a kind of shallow way. Like most sam adams beers it just lacks depth somewhere, clean flavor that are what they are. earthy and somewhat dry from the coffee. I liked it though I probably wouldn’t buy it, its the one I voted for.

Great beer. I’m not even a coffee drinker and i loved the flavor. Wish i had more of a sample, basically a shot glass. Super black, nice creamy head. Rich texture and flavor. Roasted.

Sampled at "Beer Lover’s Choice" taste test at Cellars in St. Paul. Clear dark brown pour with medium head. Rich aroma of coffee and sweet chocolate. Similar flavor with a creamy smooth mouthfeel. Definitely my choice of the two "Beer Lover’s Choice" samples.

Black color with a thin head. Coffee aroma (duh) with roasted malt. A little fruit... I think cherry. The taste is more of a medium roasted coffee. Strong roasted barley. Simple, but very good.

Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota as "Beer Lover’s Choice" test beer. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates toa fine film and thin off-white ring. Aroma of distinct coffee beans, roated dark malt, some flowery hops and a touch of sweet cherry. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of coffee, toasted dark malt, some fruity character and a touch of berries. Finish is slightly sweet with a nice coffee aftertaste that lingers for a moment after the finish. Of the two Beer Lover’s Choice, this would be my pick.

Sampled at the 2008 Folio Weekly Beer Festival, this beer poured a dark coffee brown color with a tan head. Aroma is all coffee beans, as is the taste as well. In fact, the coffee overwhelms this beer, and it is on a fast track to be the losing beer in this year’s Beer Lover’s Choice contest being run by Samuel Adams.
