CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Nov 26, 2008 Got some bread and cranberries on the nose. Flavor is unpleasantly sour and won’t help you at all on your period. It’ll clean out your system, but definitely is not a natural diarrhetic. Luckily I only have two of these to get through. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Nov 26, 2008 12oz Bottle, Winter Variety Pack: Cloudy peach color w/ a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity w/ some yeast popping out. The more I sniff I’m picking up a sour sort of something, but on the next whiff I detect sweet. I must admit, the aroma intrigues me. Flavor...not so much. Initially syrupy sweet, fading into a dry, sour finish. Makes the mouth water, not for more though. Good lacing hanging on. This is one bizarre brew...yikes. HonkeyBra (1270), Lemont, Illinois, USA Nov 26, 2008 Pours a reddish amber with a pinkish head. Aroma is buttery and Cranberries. Wheat ale flavor with some fake cranberries. Similar to the cherry wheat with cranberries. This is the ultimate "trick someone else to drink this" beer. Maple syrup apparent in the finish. Blech. mcjay (301), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Nov 21, 2008 Dark reddish orange color with a thin white head. Cranberry dominates the flavor and aroma but this brew is still relatively mild. Taste is tart and sweet with a hind of maple but over all this is one of those fruit brews that reminds me more of soda than it does beer. Not that bad but I could never drink more than one or two. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours a light reddish brown with a slgiht head on the pour. Smell is bitter and rough. No fruit at all.
Taste is very, very faint cranberry. I think it’s cranberry. Slightly off and smokey. Definitely not a lambic. Very thin in mouthfeel. This is going to be a chore to finish. WakeandBake (422), Greenville, Michigan, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle.Pours an interesting orange-pink color with a finger of white head that laces some and falls to a thin cap.
Aroma is a little yeasty, but otherwise a combination of sweet and sour fruit. The taste has a combination of sweet and tart fruit - some cranberry, perhaps apricot and apple notes as well.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied. .Drinkability is okay. It is not a drain-pour beer, but you have to be ready for the tartness. The only brew from Sam that I have not liked very much.Just not my style

UriahHeep (103), Georgia, USA Nov 19, 2008 Poured an orange-red body which separated from a minimal white fizz head. Almost a soda-like appearance. Sour aroma of fruit and wheat. The taste begins with malted wheat, cereal and fruit juice, medium mouthfeel. Hints of coriander and orange peel. The downside: it leaves a synthetic, unpleasant aftertaste. Not a great recipe, but with a moderately high ABV it can sneak up on you. Narnad (682), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Nov 19, 2008 Beer pours a red/pink color, looks like fruit juice or a darker cherry seven up pink color. Aroma has smells like a can of cranberry with some biscuit notes. Flavor has a lot of cranberry fruit sweetness, some tartness and ends with a very dry feeling. Tons of carbonation but doesn’t seem to add anything to the beer. Not much sourness to it all, as with most lambics. Not very good and reminds me more of drinking a flavored soda/pop than a beer.
