alexkeil (20), New York, USA Jul 3, 2008 I love the Sam Adams winter variety pack, I get it every year - and every year I try the cranberry lambic and say "This is the year I will find something to like about cranberry lambic" and every year I conclude there is nothing good about this tart and confusing brew. This winter when I buy the variety pack, I’ll probably do it all over again phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 17, 2008 This beer pours a golden, orangeish colour with a small thin white head. While i wasn’t extremely impressed with this beer on lambic terms, I did find suprisingly pleasent and easy to enjoy, despite its lack of carbonation and structure. It’s a calm, soft silky mouthfeel- well balanced, just a little weak thats all. tart in the finish. Nik925 (300), California, USA Jun 10, 2008 Figured it would be worth a taste, and I was right. Very interesting, and its nice to see a big American brewer using wild yeast, but I wont be buying any of this next winter. smeltdipper (8), Boyne City, Michigan, USA does not count May 21, 2008 I had great expectations for this beer since overall the Sam Adams beers are usually above average. The aroma was nice. Slightly fruity and refreshing. The taste however was less impressive. I rarely (almost never) fail to finish a beer. Even Camo gets muscled down if needed. I poured this out after several sips of disbelief. I tried to like it but the taste was overwhelmingly medicinal. Almost like taking cough syrup. Overall I was disappointed in this one. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA May 11, 2008 Cloudy yellow with a reddish tint. Small head but has the good lace that I always see in a Sam Adams. Cherry and cranberry dominate the nose, wheat can be noticed behind the berry. No hop presence in the aroma. Extremely tart flavor makes you really pucker. Its soo tart it reminds me of the super sour candy that youngsters like these days. Unfortunately the extreme sour berry undercuts a pleasing beer experience. Sam Adams Cherry Wheat is a more moderate fruit beer. This is one Sam Adams I will avoid in the future. MrBeerFanatic (344), jamestown, New York, USA May 9, 2008 The flavor of the cranberries comes through in an unpleasent stingy way. I love fruit beers, but this one is at the bottom of the list for me. The fact that I don’t like cranberries might have some bearing on my rating, but not much. WizardLord69 (6), New Jersey, USA does not count May 8, 2008 I don’t have this beer on hand, but it left a bad enough impression that I believe I can still speak about how foul it is. It’s completely undrinkable. A single sip was enough to contort my face, and I had to expend all my power to keep from spitting it up. There isn’t much more you can say about it than disgusting. I would gladly take a Steel Reserve over this any time. PlunkersDuo (6), USA does not count May 6, 2008 We would qualify this as a "panty dropper" , you can give these to the ladies while your drinking your sam adams winter pack and when there good and loosened up... well you get the idea. Anyway Its not really an american/mans beer but it has its place, just not in our homes. I mean we don’t think its bad because it IS a LAMBIC and its not claiming to be a real manly bear or anything so if you like the fruity belgium style beers have at it.
