Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

Cranberry smell with clove and banana. Cranberry flavor with a little banana and a hint of nutmeg. i can’t compare it because I have not had the chance to try traditional lambics, but this one doesn’t seem like it would compare anyway.

I enjoy Sam Adams products and will choose to rate them well. It would be better if more of "the masses" would migrate to Sam Adams and then on to other things with Sam Adams products as the "base." Anything to dent the giant pissers. This particular beer is good for about 2. The cranberry aroma and color are impressive, but then it does feel a bit like Robitussin after awhile. Strangely, I want to try this one with desserts and apple pie. I wouldn’t pair this with turkey or gravy. I haven’t felt compelled to try other "fruit-based" beers.

Cranberry smell with a little bana and clove. Cranberry flavor with a little banana. I would like it more if it was a little more cranberry tart instead of just the sweetness.

Poured from a 12-oz bottle a reddish amber color. Light smell of cranberry and taste had the same. Nothing really special about this one. Just an ordinary beer.

For an American macro attempt at a lambic it is ok. But compared to real lambics it falls short. A bit too tart. Easy to drink on Thanksgiving, but not too much otherwise. Cranberry flavor is there for sure...just an ok beer.

Blech. Maroon pour with a short head. Aroma of cough syrup and cranberries. Candy-like cranberry taste and ethyl alcohol. Again, like cough syrup. I like cranberries, and thought this would be good. Its not.

Poured a reddish amber with a small head. Strong cranberry aroma with other fruits. Cranberries dominate the taste, you have to search real hard to find other flavors - some syrup, for example. Medium bodied, leaves a very tart sense in the mouth. A distant sixth place out of six in the Sam Adams collection that included this. Maybe it’s more of a breakfast beer.

The pour is a golden amber color with a small head. The nose is very cranberry and molasses there were hints of malt too. The taste seem like chemical cranberry with sweetness. I was expecting a bit of tartness but it didn’t show through the palate. The finish was long and just ok.
