Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

Tasting, courtesy of Fordest’s event. Beer #6. I’m not gonna waste a lot of words on this one--tasted side by side with the Cantillion blabar and it was junk by comparison. Not recommended.

Bottle at Toms Glasgow tasting 2 ... Hazy amber ... yeasty with alittle fruit in nose ... sweet breadyy ... little malt... no real lambic character.

From a bottle poured brown with a fair amount of head. Smell and flavor of cranberries with a quick finish.

I like this one slightly less that the cherry wheat. They seemed to have missed the mark on this one again. This beer is just too acidic, and the cranberry is too sour. It’s too carbonated to compare with other Lambics, and it really does not hold up.

Cranberry smell with clove and banana. Cranberry flavor with a little banana and a hint of nutmeg. i can’t compare it because I have not had the chance to try traditional lambics, but this one doesn’t seem like it would compare anyway.

I enjoy Sam Adams products and will choose to rate them well. It would be better if more of "the masses" would migrate to Sam Adams and then on to other things with Sam Adams products as the "base." Anything to dent the giant pissers. This particular beer is good for about 2. The cranberry aroma and color are impressive, but then it does feel a bit like Robitussin after awhile. Strangely, I want to try this one with desserts and apple pie. I wouldn’t pair this with turkey or gravy. I haven’t felt compelled to try other "fruit-based" beers.

Cranberry smell with a little bana and clove. Cranberry flavor with a little banana. I would like it more if it was a little more cranberry tart instead of just the sweetness.

Poured from a 12-oz bottle a reddish amber color. Light smell of cranberry and taste had the same. Nothing really special about this one. Just an ordinary beer.
