Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

Bottle part of a holiday pack. Pours orange in color with small whitish head. Aroma was fruity not necessarily just cranberries. Flavor is TOO SWEET. I get a touch of malt, some vanilla, with the cranberries. Light mouthfeel. Not one of my favorite SA brews.

Tasted 22/10/2006. 330ml bottle from BrewNZ. Only just found the notes. Peachy-gold without a head, though it has a light off-white lace. Sweet lolly-like malt, a little wheat, some sweet cranberry juice, berryfruit, sugar syrup and beans. Sweet with a slight tart edge in the mouth. Slight astringency, probably from cranberry skins, and a mild sourness that lingers. Too sweet. Light and spritzy in the mouth, without being too fizzy. Overall impression is that this is a little too much like "alcopops".

If you like cranberry you may like this. The flavor dominates the beer. I did not particularly care for it.

Awful, awful, awful. Ugh. Worst Sam Adams brew I’ve ever tasted. Wish they would get this out of the Holiday Pack.

This is the only Sam Adams brew that I have not enjoyed. Honestly I almost vomited after two drinks. And I consider myself a very open minded beer drinker. I’m sure that fans of similar lambics would enjoy it, but it was not for me.

Left over from a Sam Adams holiday 12 pack I got in December. I didn’t care for this beer when I first tried it a couple of years ago. But it’s either improved or my taste has evolved. Sweetness edges out the sour/bitter notes, but not by much--I’ve had much sweeter fruit beers that might as well have been Kool-Aid. Easy to drink but still shows character.

Not bad for a broad distributor. I would very much like to try again, but its so damn hard to come by. I have a hard time finding cranberry lambics, so this is all I really have to go on. Not bad.

Did not like this beer at all! Very surprised, I thought I was going to like it. The thing that surprised me was the sweetness, come on this is beer, not Kool-Aid! The funny thing is that I can usually tolerate most beers, however this beer I found myself choking down. Although I would like to note that this beer did have a great color.
