Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

Bottle. Golden orange colour with an average short lasting head. Aroma has plenty of cranberries and some wheat. The flavour is a little sweet and somewhat sour too, plenty of cranberry. Clean fresh finish. Far from a real Belgian lambiek beer, more like a fruit flavored beer. But I guess this one is more friendly to the regular beer drinkers than a real lambiek.

Bottle. Not much head to this one. Aroma of cranberries is very strong. Flavor of cranberries is also strong. It has a strange taste that I liked. Definitely not for everyone, however.

Bottle. Not much head, amber color. The smell of cranberries is evident as soon as you open the bottle. Has a sweet/sourness that is almost overwhelming. I had to come back and re-rate this as it seemed so much better the second time around. Not bad.

I can’t believe they still brew this stuff. I’m a big fan of cranberry juice and muffins, whatever. But I can’t stand this beer. Seriously, every year I get them in teh Holiday pack, and every year they sit in the fridge. Weeks go by until I run out of beer. So I say, ok, i’ll give it a shot again. And every year it’s the same horrible beer. haha

Bottle. Light smell of cranberries, wheat, not overwhelming. Tastes slightly sour with a cranberry kick and a sweet aftertaste. Too sweet for my liking, though not a terrible beer.

Bottle part of a holiday pack. Pours orange in color with small whitish head. Aroma was fruity not necessarily just cranberries. Flavor is TOO SWEET. I get a touch of malt, some vanilla, with the cranberries. Light mouthfeel. Not one of my favorite SA brews.

Tasted 22/10/2006. 330ml bottle from BrewNZ. Only just found the notes. Peachy-gold without a head, though it has a light off-white lace. Sweet lolly-like malt, a little wheat, some sweet cranberry juice, berryfruit, sugar syrup and beans. Sweet with a slight tart edge in the mouth. Slight astringency, probably from cranberry skins, and a mild sourness that lingers. Too sweet. Light and spritzy in the mouth, without being too fizzy. Overall impression is that this is a little too much like "alcopops".
