| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Mar 29, 2007 This is the only Sam Adams brew that I have not enjoyed. Honestly I almost vomited after two drinks. And I consider myself a very open minded beer drinker. I’m sure that fans of similar lambics would enjoy it, but it was not for me. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/20 | Mar 12, 2007 Left over from a Sam Adams holiday 12 pack I got in December. I didn’t care for this beer when I first tried it a couple of years ago. But it’s either improved or my taste has evolved. Sweetness edges out the sour/bitter notes, but not by much--I’ve had much sweeter fruit beers that might as well have been Kool-Aid. Easy to drink but still shows character. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Not bad for a broad distributor. I would very much like to try again, but its so damn hard to come by. I have a hard time finding cranberry lambics, so this is all I really have to go on. Not bad. atmelmatrix81 (5), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA does not count | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 1/10 | 3/5 | 2/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Did not like this beer at all! Very surprised, I thought I was going to like it. The thing that surprised me was the sweetness, come on this is beer, not
Kool-Aid! The funny thing is that I can usually tolerate most beers, however this beer I found myself choking down. Although I would like to note that this beer did have a great color. BeNobleDark (59), Allendale, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2007 This brew is very strong, I thought. The fruit flavors overtake the brew and dominate the palate. I think if the fruit tones were turned down, this lambic would end up being alot better balanced. Good aroma, beautiful color, but the body needs some work, it tastes unbalanced, but still decent. Hopgeek (101), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 6, 2007 From the 2005 Sam Adam’s Winter Sampler. ABV on the bottle is 5.9% rather than the listed 4.8%. Box says, best before feb 2006.
Pours a murky dark orange/apricot hue, makes a fine white head and laces my glass nicely. Smell is slightly vegetal, hint of oak and vanilla beans, just a smidge of funk, but not even close to what I would expect of a ’lambic’. Flavor is all over the place, its sweet, there’s vanilla, some soured wheat, sour fruit but hard to discern that there is cranberry in this, my best descriptor here would be ’interesting’. Medium carbonation, medium palate and leaves a sticky coating, its not bad, but not really lambic-like at all. This is interesting, but there’s plenty of other brews I’d rather have instead.
