joefflin (66), USA Jan 4, 2007 Wow. This one caught me a little off guard. Got it in the Winter Classics pack. Last one I tired. Terrible. The pour is alright, and the head is a white, maybe a really faint pink. The taste is dreadful though. Almost tastes like you just dumped a really bad batch of a pixie stick in your mouth, but worse. It’s too bad Sam Adams put their name on this brew. I couldn’t even finish it. johnykat (65), Pennsylvania, USA Jan 3, 2007 Ahh the cranberry lambic...the cockroach of SA beers. People scream and jump on top of tables when they see this beer in their SA holiday beer cases. They yell, cry, send letters to the brewery to stop making it, even spray it with pesticides to make it go away...yet it will not. It is one of the most resilient beers on the planet and will not go away. Rumor has it that a nuclear bomb was dropped on an island full of beers in the Pacific and this was the only one that survived...believe it or not. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Jan 1, 2007 1/1/07: Bottle. Slight hop aroma followed by an orange-brown body. Large initial head. Light fruit flavor, even syrupy. Why is the word “Lambic” on this bottle? Fruit beer, maybe – Lambic, I think not. Quite a pitiful attempt. bendz1 (86), Ankeny, Iowa, USA Jan 1, 2007 The good look and smell of this Lambic is misleading. I have tried several Lambic and this is my least favorite. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Dec 31, 2006 12oz bottle-pours a bubbly off white head and ? color. Aroma is sweet cranberry. Taste is sweet cranberry, muted vinegar. OK carbonation. mwhit20 (5), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Dec 30, 2006 this one grew on me after i tried it a few times. its pretty fruity but its an interesting diversion from the darker stouts, porters and lagers availble in the winter samplers. its tastes like banana and cranberry. lowg (123), Scarborough, Ontario, Canada Dec 29, 2006 Final beer in the Winter Mix pack that I get to rate. Pours light copper with minimal head. Smells of burnt butterscotch and fruit. Taste is kinda sour and with a sweet, caramelized fruity (cranberry) taste to it. Not bad but the sourness stands out and finishes to sweet. I’ve never tried a lambic but somehow I don’t think this is a good example of one. Still, I was able to finish it but I was expecting more from it. brew4fun (167), West Virginia, USA Dec 26, 2006 12 oz. bottle.Reddish pour with thin white head. Light lacing evident as head quickly recedes. Fruity, yeasty aroma, pleasant. Taste is sweet cranberry/orange, leaving a mild sourness in the finish. Very tasty brew.
