atomcow1 (13), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Dec 18, 2006 Two bottles of this came in the SA winter mix pack. Had a few sips of one bottle before pouring down the drain. My wife and I are currently debating which hated relative to serve it to over the holidays. Utterly atrocious with no redeeming value. Doesn’t even taste like cranberries. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA Dec 18, 2006 From a 12oz Bottle. Golden orange pour with an off-white bubbly head. The appearance is quite typical, but at the same time, its the only feature of this beer I don’t have a major problem with. Aromas of subtle cranberries, corn sugar, and wheat malt. Intoxicatingly sweet. A whiff of belgian ale yeast phenolic characters. Medium bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Not a lambic. An excessively sweet wheat beer sweetened with a splash of stale tasting cranberry extract and a touch of light yeast phenols. Too sweet to be refreshing and not enough cranberry to get even a suggestion of berry tartness, let alone the lambic tartness the name and description suggests. Awful. This beer was beyond drain pour for me. Feeling a bit sadistic at the time, I forced myself to consume the entirety of this awful beverage just to fully appreciate how bad it really was. How unfortunate that a relatively large sample of the general population will forever associate this beer as an example of such a beautiful, artistic style. AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA Dec 17, 2006 nice cranberry scent, reddish brown in appearance, this year (2006) seems sweeter than last year’s but still not really a lambic. There is more sourness present and it is less wheaty than those from last year but it is very sweet. Maybe they were trying to emulate Lindeman’s? waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Dec 17, 2006 bottle. hazy strawberry pour. almost no head. cranberry candy aroma. sweet and tart but wheat is the backbone. not much of a lambic at all. more of a cran wheat. tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Dec 16, 2006 From a 12-ounce bottle, poured a very dense dark amber with a slight head. Noticable cranberry aroma. Light body, overall dry flavor balance with slight banana character and slighty sour finish. Well carmonated. Nice complex mouthfeel. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA Dec 16, 2006 Drain Pour. Pours a strange orange with real fast fizzy bubbles. Aroma is sour and uninviting. Flavor is very skank ass sour, but not cranberry sour. Weird soapy residue, only took 3 sips. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Dec 15, 2006 Poured clear orange with a medium head. Aroma is cranberries, wheat, and something sour (yeast?). I’ve had a couple of these before, and I don’t think that I’ll ever get used to the funky, sour taste. It’s definitely unique. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Dec 15, 2006 Pours amber with a small head.Aroma and taste heavy of cranberries. If you dont like cranberries you wont like this. This would be good for Thanksgiving.
