jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Nov 30, 2006 Bottle: Light copper color with some gold tones and a smaller white head. The aroma is strong at first, sort of a musty fruit smell, but it lightened after being poured into my glass. The taste is much better than the smell - the cranberry tartness complimented the malty sweetness fairly well. Some clove is also present. Probably more reminiscent of fruit juice than beer, this one is destined for lower ratings. Too bad, its a neat idea and has promise... demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Nov 29, 2006 Pours a clear orangish /amber color with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma is of cranberries, wheat, clove, dry wine, and spices. Quite reminiscent of a Belgian white. Tastes a light sweet and sour texture with the cranberries coming to the forefront, wheat, banana, bubblegum and clove. Palate is rather dry and abrupt. Overall, It’s an interesting fruit beer. It is a little too sweet for my tastes, but this is a beer that I’d have one or two of and that would be it. stiffy42j (67), Brunswick, Georgia, USA Nov 26, 2006 pours orangish brown with thin off white head....smells like yeast and fruit. interesting taste....with a sour cranberry banana taste. Its good to try once or twice during the holidays but nothing I would want regularly DrewTaylor (154), Michigan, USA Nov 26, 2006 Updated: Dec 19, 2006Misuse of the name lambic. Pretty sure this wasnt spontaneous fermentation. The aroma is very strong - berry. The cranberry taste is overpowering. It tastes like someone poured a medium-light beer into some cranberry juice. By the end I didnt want to finish. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 26, 2006 orange. medium sized white fizzy head. a lambic? i dont think so. very sweet and spicey with notes of maple, butter, ginger, and cranberries. there is a lightly sour finish but its not due to wild yeasts. probably just the sour cranberries. nice experiment though. SwillNoMore (105), USA Nov 25, 2006 Updated: Nov 28, 2006Beer mug, from bottle. Fresh date Mar ’07, sampled Nov ’06. Thin and short-lived white head, strong lacing. Clear golden color. Aroma is sour and cheeselike. Mouthfeel is light but almost sticky. Flavor is cheese and cranberries... very hard to place. Finish is short and sweet. An odd brew, perhaps an acquired taste. I wouldn’t recommend it as an easy drinker. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Nov 24, 2006 Poured a golden crisp brew. The head was thin and off white. Smelled earthy, funky, and slightly tart. Tasted sour, tart, and had hints of cranberry. The palate was very crisp and bubbly. The finish was sour. The problem with this is the fact that its cranberry, I don’t think cranberry was a good idea for a lambic. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Nov 24, 2006 (Seems a bit high ABV% for a lambic, no?) This one is a bit disappointing. It’s a cheap carbon copy of a real lambic. Where lambics are generally "FULL" of fruits, sours and thick flavor palates, this "fruit beer" is just not up to par. (I am glad that the style is listed as "fruit beer" on the website.) It pours a deep orange-amber into the glass, with a diminishing head and mild to little lace. The nose is sour, not of fresh cranberries, but rather a processed sour candy. The flavor is much the same, but leaning more heavily on the "processed" portion. This has a plastic finish to it, not exactly "kind". It just feels cheaply put together, in my humble opinion. There almost feels a macro corn aspect from time to time throughout the pull. It neither cuts it for a decent fruit beer, nor a "mildly" decent lambic.
