COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

A: The pour is initially bubbly and a cloudy pink with a light pink head. The head and carbonation quickly subside leaving a rather lifeless looking beer. S: The smell is very, very strange. There are aromas of a classic witbier, such as coriander and citrus, along with a substantial wheat scent. There is also a fake cranberry smell. T: The taste is just about the same as the aroma. A strong spice flavor mixed with a tartness (I’m guessing from the cranberry juice). The cranberry flavor, however, is rather subdued. M: The beer is lightly carbonated and has a medium body. D: This is a really strange beer. It’s certainly not a lambic (or anything resembling one). The combination of spice, fruit, and tartness just isn’t working out here.

Bottle from Winter Classics Sampler. Pours a hazy ruby color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly diminishing. Average cranberry fruity aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Moderate sour cranberry flavor with a tart finish of average duration.

Bottle. Golden orange colour with an average short lasting head. Aroma has plenty of cranberries and some wheat. The flavour is a little sweet and somewhat sour too, plenty of cranberry. Clean fresh finish. Far from a real Belgian lambiek beer, more like a fruit flavored beer. But I guess this one is more friendly to the regular beer drinkers than a real lambiek.

It’s unclear, orange-red with a lasting, creamy head. The aroma has notes of cranberries, a light berry sourness, light sweetness and wheat. The flavour is sweet with notes of creanberries, wheat and a little yoghurt. It’s smooth and sweet, very far from the lambic style, and too sweet in the long run.

Lightly hazed golden beer with rosée hues and thin lacing white head. Faint berries in aroma, no lambic here. In mouth, a tart cranberrry juice with light malt and lemon. Thin bodied. Not horrible, just not a lambic! Guys, stay out of lambic making, please! Bottle is baout 6 mo. old.

Bottle poured a hazy cranberry red with a small diminishing pink head. Aromas of cranberry, wheat and a faint hint of spice. Really not much to smell here. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Not lambic like at all. Flavors of cranberry, light cookie and a hint of spice with a smooth cranberry finish. Not lambic like in any strtch of the imagination!

Cloudy amber to auburn in color. Wonderful aroma of cranberries and malt. Flavor is very malty with a definite taste of cranberries. The palate is a bit fizzy.
