Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours a clear bright copper with lasting off white foam ring. The aroma starts off with some musty funk followed by mild notes of cranberry and fruity tartness. It tastes just like the aroma if not a bit fruitier. It starts with a hit of mustiness mixed with cranberry juice. Interesting combination. Midway a sugary sweetness takes hold for a moment or two before both the mild funk and cranberries return to bring the experience to a close.

Bottle. Pours a light reddish hue with a small pinkish head. The aroma is really light-perhaps some fruit. The taste has some cranberries, malts, and tartness. Something is off though. First, this is not a lambic, so why say so. Second, the beer is just really thin and weak while leaving artifical tastes. Not good, but not horrible.

Bottle part of a holiday pack. Pours orange in color with small whitish head. Aroma was fruity not necessarily just cranberries. Flavor is TOO SWEET. I get a touch of malt, some vanilla, with the cranberries. Light mouthfeel. Not one of my favorite SA brews.

Bottle. Poured a sparkling, clear medium golden with a quickly-receding white head. Nose picked up wheat and light berries, along with an odd vegetal aspect. Flavors of wheat, banana, clove, cranberry, and grassy/vegetal hops. Very sweet on the palate with light sour berry notes on the sides. Too much carbonation, and the sweet explosion at the front of the finish was unpleasant. The enjoyment factor was low with this one.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2008 Bottle. Appearance: Pink amber, eggshell head. Aroma: Sweet, tart and fruity. Cranberry dominates. Also a little wheaty. Palate: Medium/light. Flavor: Very sweet cranberry. Kind of tart. Was a weird, dairy, almost yogurt like sourness. Overall: I poured half of this beer down the drain. I’m not crazy about cranberry drinks in general. This one was just to much for me. Worst of their winter 12 pack by far.

Bottle. Thanks Anker for providing. Hazy reddish body with a medium off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with light caramel notes. Rather sweet flavour with lots of caramel and fruit. Expected it to be more tart from the cranberry. Ends up slightly sour and fruity.

Dirty copper appearance with some head. Confusing fruit and creamed corn aroma with musty hoppiness. Body is semi-sour and fruity, but still maintains an American standard flavor. I applaud Sam Adams' willingness to attempr to brew a beer in this style, but it could have been done much better.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Tom’s UGT Pt. 2.My god this was awful. Rather univiting cloudy light brown and it gets worse from there. Really nasty pukey sweet caramel. I couldn’t smell it without feeling like I was going to gip. Undrinkable.

Just really not that great... not very much like your traditional tangy Belgian lambic. I’d take a real one over this any day.
