Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

The best thing about this beer is its appearance. It pours a hazy blood orange with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is sweet/sour and gives way to a very sweet then sour flavor with a very odd, bitter finish. Interesting is the best word for this beer, and it is a unique experience to drink even for a seasoned beer knurd.

12 oz. bottle.Reddish pour with thin white head. Light lacing evident as head quickly recedes. Fruity, yeasty aroma, pleasant. Taste is sweet cranberry/orange, leaving a mild sourness in the finish. Very tasty brew.

Sour fruit aroma from a cloudy medium ruby body with no head. Slight sweet/ sour flavor of cranbereries and malt. Not bad, not a lambic by any definition of the style. Mediium mouth feel slightly over carbonated.

Yeasty apple and banana nose. Clear amber with a thick billowy white head. Tastefully sour with a sweet kiss of applecore. Subdued cilantro finish. Watery cider, poor lambic.

Burnt orange color with very little head. Sweet and sour nose with definite cranberry and some raspberries as well. Sweet cranberry flavor with a little bit of sour and not a whole lot of body. Doesn’t really compare to most decent lambics. Lacks much complexity.

Pours cloudy red with little to no head. Aroma is sugary sweet and slightly smoky. Flavor is sweet but not as sweet as I was expecting for a lambic. The cranberries lend a sour/tart quality that is actually quite nice. Medium body and a less than satisfying finish. Not superb, but better than I was expecting based on the reviews.

Split the bottle with Butters. Pours a peachy colored head with a cloudy, burnt orange body. Smells like cranberry bread. Tastes of cranberries. It is sweet and sour with a more prevalent sour finish.
