Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

Bitter, crisp taste, with a nice hint of cranberries. Drank this with my turkey, found it boring after a few sips. Not as sweet and complex as I expected, but it did have a pleasent head and color to it. The aroma was lacking. An O.K. beer.

I like cranberries, I’ll even eat them fresh, but this is almost repulsive, IMO.
Poured a light burgundy body and a full almost tan head. The aroma and flavor are dirty and damp, soggy oak chips, rotting lemon and apple compote… the tartness and some of the acidity of cranberries… there is some crusty, biscuity maltyness in the finish… The overall recipe is just not to my liking…. This is one of the few beers I have poured out over the years…

Pours a brownish yellow out of the bottle. Aroma is of a fruity and malty mix. Flavor is of course cranberry with some notes of some malts. Very sweet, tart and dry. Not a bad attempt. Came in a winter classic pack.

Bottle. I’m not sure what this beer wants to be. It’s listed here as a fruit beer, then on the bottle under the Cranberry "Lambic" name is says it’s a wheat beer with cranberry juice, then on the neck label it says it’s "Our version of a traditional Belgian lambic". The appearance is wheat-like with a hazy orange color, fizzy off white head, that produced some lacing. It also looked very carbonated. The aroma found lemon, fruits, clove, and banana (again, a wheat beer type smell). Banana, wheat, and some cranberry in the flavor. The cranberry really did not jump out in the aroma or flavor like expected. Starts sweet but ends tart and dry. It’s ok for whatever it wants to be.

Poured this into a flute on 12/6/07. An orange-copper color with a 1 knuckle off white head. Malt, cranberry and wheat on the aroma. Cranberry, apple, malt, and white zinfindel initially. Watered down cranberry juice, lots of malt, and wheat on a tart aftertaste. Body is on the watery side of medium with good carbonation. A fruit beer, but hardly lambic. Cranberry Wheat would be an appropriate name. Not bad if you need a thrist quencher.

Pours a slightly hazy orange gold with a thin head. Has an aroma of clove, banana, and some tart cranberries. It actually smells pretty good! Wow, nevermind. This tastes pretty bad. Its got a watered down cranberry juice flavor with a mild clove finish. Kind of thin. At least it smells good.

Samuel Adams Cranberry Lambic 12 oz bottle Best before 04/06, sauced up on 11/06 Medium pour in an English Pint Poured a clear amber, with golden highlights, with an average slightly off white mostly diminishing head with fair lacing. Smelt of strong bananas, light dough, spices and grain and faint cranberries. Taste was upfront moderate tart cranberries and sweet spicy bananas followed by a moderate sweet and sour cranberry bite accompanied by light grain and dough. Palate was medium bodied, creamy, soft and lively carbonation, with light astringency. Overall, I’m not too familiar with the lambic style, but I thought the advertised fruit was supposed to take the forefront. The cranberry taste is there, but obscured by the other tastes. Interesting blend of flavors and spices, if anything. Neither a beer nor a lambic really, just a monster of its own. The beer consensus is that it’s terrible, but the novelty of it gets to me once a year and I can say that is a flavorful and fairly well balanced freak. Some sucker is getting the other one in the Holiday pack.

A 12 oz bottle with a notch system for dateing the beer. The beer poured a copper red body with a white head with red hints. The smell is a bitter cranberry. The taste is nice mix of hops and cranberries but a bitter after taste. A good carbonation and lacing. Six pack!
