dekeq (35), New Jersey, USA Nov 2, 2009 Poured into my mug it produced a pretty nice, dark appearance. It let almost no light through and it had a very lasting head - even in the mug. It reminded me a little bit of Guinness. It had a bouquet of hops and the roasted scent of barley. There was also a slight hint of coffee or cappuccino. The taste started off very smooth, although it was a bitter beer. It followed through bitter as well with hints of coffee in the middle and end. It also leaves a coffee aftertaste leading me to believe coffee beans are in the brewing process somewhere. The texture was pretty smooth, but it was harsh at the end. It had the same flow of flavors and sensations as coffee joet (1699), Fulton, California, USA Nov 1, 2009 modest head and aroma, dark caramel aromas, some coffee, medium body. better and slightly more substantial than the mass market stouts Dandeman321 (4), Ohio, USA does not count Oct 29, 2009 Creamy head. Loved the flavor. Liked it better than Guinness. Strong coffee/chocolate tastes. arkurzynski (89), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Oct 20, 2009 Pours deep brown/amber with frothy yellow/tan head. Aroma of roasted malts with a light sweetness. Coffee taste that is prominent but not over-powering. Sweetness is a bit hidden. madvike (301), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 18, 2009 Bottle - Just a better brew than I expected. Looks gorgeous, with a frothy tan head sitting above a dark black pour. Smell is sweet and nutty, with some milkiness and a slight whiskey heat. Taste is chocolatey and a little sweet and nutty. Finishes with bitter coffee, hops, and roast--nice and warming. It’s a little thin, watery, and a bit flat, but overall this was pretty good. Lubiere (4462), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 17, 2009 A deep dark stout with a thick dark moka head. A light aroma of chocolate, coffee, and berry notes. In mouth, a rather light chocolate and moak taste, with sustained toasted malts, bitterness, but I found this one a bit simple, left me on my hunger. Not bad. WVHouseofBeer (332), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Oct 15, 2009 Poured the normal black with a small tan head that left no lacing. Decent roasted dark chocolate aroma and flavor, along with some caramel and a little bit of coffee. Slightly creamy finish. As far as stouts go, this was about average. jsquire (2086), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Oct 10, 2009 Dark beer with a fluffy tan head. Sweet, nutty, toasted grain nose. Flavor of sweetened coffee, burnt grains, chocolate, dark fruit, and a long drawn out coffee bitterness in the finish. This is a nice, easy drinking stout.
