Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Smells sweet of chocolate, caramel, and coffee. Dark color with tan head. Flavor very smokey. Palate a little watery. Not a bad beer.

Bottle. Pours dark black, with a thick light tan colored head. Tastes of coffee, roast, vanilla, and oddly I got a strong taste of buttered popcorn. Weird. Sort of reminds me of a porter actually. It was a decent beer, but the buttery taste was sort of off-putting.

A profound dark color with a small creamy head. The smell was immediate of strong malt. This was my first cream stout and I was expecting it to be creamier but loved my first taste.

One of Sam’s better offerings. Nose was not a accurately determinate of the creaminess of this beer, as it wasn’t overly milky. Yet, the malts were very well balanced and carbonation was nicely matched. Good.

Decent beer, just wish it was a little bit creamier. A tad bit too bitter on the after taste.

Poured from a bottle. Pours a very dark black color with a creamy brown small head. Has a strong malty aroma. Full bodied palate and has the delicious taste of chocolate and coffee. Very good stout.

Pours a slightly reddish-black with small head that dissipates quickly. Enjoyable caramel and biscuit aroma - the high point of this beer. Far less creamy taste than was expected in a cream stout. Flavor is thin and true to the smell. Biscuit/malt aftertaste. Unremarkable.
