Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Bottle: Chouffe glass: Bigger creamy beige head. Dark ruby blackish body. Aroma has lots of roast, mocha, caramel, coal, some mocha roast, coffee, light smoke, damn nice, not what I expected! Flavour is also very roasty, coffee, coal, mocha roast, coffee roast, malt roast, some bitters, nut roast, molasses/syrup, wood roast... Aftertaste bitter, roast, coffee, mocha, etc. We allsaw it come by twice already... Low carbo, watery mouthfeel, mediumbodied. Nice.

Bottle @ home. Opaque brown color (although I was sitting in a semi-dark room so couldn’t tell exactly), full sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, sweet malts, roast, caramel, brown malts, lightly vanilla, a hint of chocolate. Taste malts, dark malts, lightly roast, vanilla, chocolate, slightly ashy bitter in the finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not exactly what I really like, but very well brewed.

Beautiful pouring stout with roast & sweet chocolate on the nose and in the taste. A fairly thin body keeps this drinkable without sacrificing flavor. Very good balance of roast, body and sweetness. One of the very few stouts I can enjoy on a warm day.

Sehr dunkelbraune Farbe, ordentliche beige Schaumkrone. Geruch süß röstmalzig, Malzbonbons, wenig Kaffee und Schokolade. Geschmack süß röstmalzig, viel Karamell, Toffee, Vanille, wenig Kaffee.

Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, nuts, creamy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Suprisingly tasty, great balance, not too sweet and drinks easily leaving you wanting for more.

This was OK for me the first time I tried it. Grew on me towards the end of the week as I finished the 6-pack. Got it really cold so tasted better than the first two I tried, but once I was half-way through the hoppy/bitter flavor stands out more. It is a sweet beer....creamy, malty, with lots of chocolate. Dark appearance, but not ultra-thick. When holding the glass up to a light, it is more of a very very dark brown versus black. Glad I tried this as I like to compare the different Brewmaster Collections by Sammy. Just offhand, I think I liked their Black Lager better. Might have to buy that again so I can review, as I only tried it once. As far as this Cream Stout goes, there are better out there in the Milk/Cream category. Don’t know if I’d buy this again....... UPDATED 9/20/11- Sampled few times since. Definitely something I will continue to get here and there. One of the better $8 a 6-pack stouts. Rating is the same...but now a staple "bread and butter" dark beer that is easy to find.

355ml bottle. Quasi black colour with mahogany glimmer, average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, some roast. Taste is slightly roasty dark malty, some dark malty sweetness as well, malt lozenge. Nice balance of sweet and roasty-spicy maltiness.

Cream chocolate aroma. Black body with a good two finger tan soap bubbled head. Roasted chocolate malt taste. Crisp and bubbly feeling. Light creamy cocoa in the finish. Has a nice balance and not over powering.
