COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Bottle. Muted nose. Average carbonation. Dark brown, almost black color. Very heavy mouth feel. Sweet roasted caramel with light chocolate, faint hop flavor. Great for sipping, perfect for a night cap. Not for drinking by the bunch after a hockey game. Will definitely buy again.

Looks black at first, but holding it up to a light reveals some nice deep purple-browns. Smell is of sweet cocoa, with some caramel and nice bitter coffee. The taste follows, with some bitter coffee and rye bread with a sweet finish. Solid for the style. A little too much carbonation, but nice and creamy. Easy going down, and not heavy.

The foam is not impressive, but nice tan. The scent is limited to a light malty aroma with traces of chocolate. It have relatively much carbon dioxide, and it is not common for a stout. Characterized little taste of coffee, while the chocolate malt is the dominant factor. All fine finishes of a good feeling wherein Bitter chocolate dominates. The large carbon dioxide is not destructive to this stout, actually I get used to it quickly. Samuel Adams has again surprised me positively.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Appearance: pours a 2"+ tan head that drops slowly with abundant lacing. Color is opaque brown with a red tint. Aroma: strong roasted barley and chocolate. Mouthfeel: medium bodied and creamy with dry, powdery finish. Flavor: chocolate, a bit of coffee, rich roasted barley, caramel with some earthy hops in the background. Overall: outstanding, definitely a great beer within the style.

Bottle. Pours a black beer with a nice, dense and creamy beige head on top. Aroma is very roasty, chocolate, some coffee and cookie notes as well. Very full and the flavor is also quite roasty bittersweet. A nice hint of sweet caramel in the back finishes this beer off to the fullest. A very nice, low abv, full bodied stout with a good balance and complexity. Nice one!!

Bottle: Chouffe glass: Bigger creamy beige head. Dark ruby blackish body. Aroma has lots of roast, mocha, caramel, coal, some mocha roast, coffee, light smoke, damn nice, not what I expected! Flavour is also very roasty, coffee, coal, mocha roast, coffee roast, malt roast, some bitters, nut roast, molasses/syrup, wood roast... Aftertaste bitter, roast, coffee, mocha, etc. We allsaw it come by twice already... Low carbo, watery mouthfeel, mediumbodied. Nice.

Bottle @ home. Opaque brown color (although I was sitting in a semi-dark room so couldn’t tell exactly), full sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, sweet malts, roast, caramel, brown malts, lightly vanilla, a hint of chocolate. Taste malts, dark malts, lightly roast, vanilla, chocolate, slightly ashy bitter in the finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not exactly what I really like, but very well brewed.

Beautiful pouring stout with roast & sweet chocolate on the nose and in the taste. A fairly thin body keeps this drinkable without sacrificing flavor. Very good balance of roast, body and sweetness. One of the very few stouts I can enjoy on a warm day.
