BEERGUY007 (173), Scotia, New York, USA Dec 24, 2007 I really liked this one, of course then again, I do like stout’s. Cream, dry Irish whatever, I love ’em. Nice black color, smells smokey. Not like aecht schenkerla rauchbier, but less so. Barley is nice, head is ok, not like the Beamish or Murphy’s but it’s ok. Good beer. Won’t be the last time I get this one.
lithy (200), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 6, 2008 Dark brown, reddish tints, thin cover of a light tan head. Coffee aromas, bitter roasted malts, sweet but more bitter roasted malt and smooth coffee flavors. borgination (78), Lee, Massachusetts, USA Oct 5, 2008 Dark brown with a creamy tanned head. Coffee malty aroma and a flavor with coffee and nuts. Not that great. Svesse (1811), Hässelby, Sweden Oct 5, 2008 (Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 27 Sep 2008) Black colour with creamy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of creamy chocolate and cafe latte. Malty, roasted taste with milky chocolate, cream and a smooth finish with a balanced cocoa bittreness. Smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Tasty, easy to drink and very enjoyable. tarjei (1300), Bryne, Norway Oct 5, 2008 12 fl. oz. bottle at Skallerup Klit. Abv is 4,7%. Black color with nice beige head. Aroma is sweet chocolate. Flavor is the same, and it has a bitter finish. Nice, but a bit thin. mcsquint (15), , Missouri, USA Oct 2, 2008 Poured from a 12oz bottle. Dark, almost opaque in color with creamy 2 finger head. Head dispersed to leave a nice lacing on the inside of the glass. Aromas of chocolate, milk, and coffee. Smooth taste of chocolate and coffee with a surprisingly clean finish. This would make a good session beer.
