| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 27, 2009 milky sweetness and pretty nice flavor. Full of malts and creaminess. Kinda bland on the palate and an unnatural carbonation makes it a little off. It’s nice to drink though Bockyhorsey (2561), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle. Good aroma of roasted malt, chcolate and a Porter like sweetener on the nose. Black body with fizzy beige thin lid head. Good amount of creamy vanilla and chcolate. Roasty flavor present. That part of tasting like a sweet stout was little odd. Decent beer. edward_violet (25), Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Pours a deep deep brown, almost black. A moderate amount of off-white head.
Smells of sweet baked goods and dark malt.
Taste of light caramel, brown sugar. Hints of chocolate, coffee, raisin. Just a little bitter.
Smooth in mouth, slight yeasty aftertaste. Creamy. Soft carbonation.
Aftertaste might be more bitter than the beer itself. MrPickles (121), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2009 12 oz bottle. Passed on this way too many times, just because it was Sam Adams. Poured a deep dark brown, that appeared black. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, heavy cream, some hints of chocolate, roasted malts, slight spice. Flavor is malty and sweet with light roasted notes, and caramel, some candy sugar, hints of burnt toast and dark chocolate. Reminds me of coffee with no real coffee flavor.
