COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Bottle. Pours like most stouts, dark with a tan head. Coffee on the nose. Good flavor but lacking on the palate side. I agree its a bit watery. Have another? I can dig it.

really notable about this one is the smokiness/toastiness/roastiness on the flavor and mouthfeel. i appreciate that a large commercial (television-advertised) brewer such as this one does not skimp on the ingredients.

It has a very dark brow color that is very close to opaque in appearance. On top the head, which is dark tan in color, starts off thick and creamy then slowly settles down to thinner layer that has good retention lasting to the last sip. Its lacing is slick and slides down the glass as I drink. The aroma has a big sweet and malty nose with a pleasant roasted character and a touch of chocolate and coffee notes. The taste starts off with a smooth malt flavor that builds a nice roasted character with the same hints of dark chocolate and roasted coffee in the aroma. Hop flavor is mild and adds only a slight metallic/herbal presence. The finish has a nice slow, somewhat dryer roasted coffee fade. On the palate it has a very creamy and smooth feeling. It has soft carbonation and a good solid medium to full body.

12 oz bottle from the Party Source tasted at home. Pours dark brown to near black in color with a medium sized khaki head. The aroma and flavor have mildly roasted malt, chocolate, a hint of caramel, some lactose sweetness, smooth, but slightly watery, not a bad effort considering the production size.

Pours a dark brown with a off-white head. Chocolate, nuts, toast, and roasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a semi-sweet cocoa flavor.

12 oz. bottle from the Party Source. Pours a deep coffee brown with a small khaki head that laces the glass. Aroma of chocolate, cream, nuts, toast, tobacco, earth, and mild roast. The flavor is a more muted version of the same, with more roast and bitterness. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Decent stout.

12oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and sweetness. Taste of the same. This medium to full bodied brew is rather tasty.

Bottle. A- Cocoa, coffee, roasty, smoke, woody, A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Cocoa, coffee, caramel, chocolate, roasty, watery. P- Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- This seemed extremely thin on the body and watery but had a nice complex and rich flavor regardless. A little lacking but as easy as it is to drink and as good as it is, I can’t find an honest reason to complain about it too much.

12 oz bottle. Pour is black with light tan head. Smell is chocolate ice cream and coffee with a bitter roasted note. Taste is sweet and creamy with milk chocolate, bakers chocolate and a bit of coffee. Silky smooth mouthfeel. This is quite good.
