Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Bottle. Pours black with brown highlights. A small tan head. Very good lacing. Aroma was very impressive with a good roasty smell. Dark fermented fruits also come to mind. The flavor is consistent with the smell although less boozy (a good thing.) Rich malt flavor with good sour lactose notes on the finish. Body is medium and to style. Roasty. Low carbonation leaves it a little flat on the finish. Texture is a little lighter than most sweet stouts, but still very acceptable. A good sweet stout. Good job Sam Adams. This is now one of my favorite from SA.

12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Watford. Appearance: finger brown head, opaque deep brown, good lacing, head retention is average. Aroma: chocolate, light caramel, roast grain, earthy malt. Palate: medium-full body, average carbonation, creamy texture, light dry bitter finish. Taste: sweet milk chocolate and caramel into roast grain and finish is light astringency and bitterness. Overall, smooth, drinkable, very good roast grain flavor without the astringency being overpowering.

"(sidebar) i tried this beer when i was a 17 year old drinker of 40’s...and hated it. Fast forward 5,10,15 years and i realize my palate was a joke back then. this is a solid effort, full bodied (but too tight on the carbonation for the style) and quite tasty. "

12oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malts with hints of chocolate and caramel. Taste of sweet creamy milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, and a slight coffee flavor. Overall one of the best stouts I have had.

poured from a bottle. I had high hopes for a cream Stout by SA, and I wasn’t disappointed. Great dark brown color with a large head that dissipated a little too quickly. Expectedly good lacing. Aroma of chocolate and coffee and malt. Smooth going down. If it had about 4% higher ABV, it would be a perfect beer.

Pours a dark brown. Aroma is sweet with malts, chocolate, and some coffee. Taste follows aroma but with a slightly bitter finish.

really notable about this one is the smokiness/toastiness/roastiness on the flavor and mouthfeel. i appreciate that a large commercial (television-advertised) brewer such as this one does not skimp on the ingredients.

It has a very dark brow color that is very close to opaque in appearance. On top the head, which is dark tan in color, starts off thick and creamy then slowly settles down to thinner layer that has good retention lasting to the last sip. Its lacing is slick and slides down the glass as I drink. The aroma has a big sweet and malty nose with a pleasant roasted character and a touch of chocolate and coffee notes. The taste starts off with a smooth malt flavor that builds a nice roasted character with the same hints of dark chocolate and roasted coffee in the aroma. Hop flavor is mild and adds only a slight metallic/herbal presence. The finish has a nice slow, somewhat dryer roasted coffee fade. On the palate it has a very creamy and smooth feeling. It has soft carbonation and a good solid medium to full body.
