3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 drowland (4994) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - MAR 3, 2013
3/3/13. 12oz bottle from Proof in Tallahassee. Clear copper pour with a nice white head that fades and laces surprisingly well. Rich hop aroma with plenty of citrus and dank with some pine and caramel and doughy almost pilsner malts. Lighter flavor with caramel and doughy malts and a touch of citrus. Not bad.

Location/Date:Bottle on 3/2/2013.
Appearance: Pours a clear darker orange.
Aroma: Medium bitterness, piney, some grapefruit.
Taste: Medium bitterness, piney, some grapefruit.
Palate:Medium light body, slightly sticky, lingering aftertaste
Summary: Really surprised by this one. Lots of flavor for not much alcohol. I don’t know if it truly is a "premium lager", but this is some good stuff.

Taster at Armanetti’s, Aurora. Am I wrong for liking this one so much? Don’t think so. Sampled from a fresh bottle, I get loads of hops in the nose; citrusy more than piney. More hops when I taste it, but managed by a fine malty backbone. I could call it a "clean lager finish" if not for so much hop lupulin sticking in my mouth.

A delicious beer and a great concept. Aroma was decent. Grapefruit, pine and lager. Pour was a nice, clear and bubbly medium gold with a thin white film for a head. Taste was nice, crisp and refreshing. Started off very pilsener-like. Light grains balanced perfectly the citrus hops. The hops don’t overpower but make a great bitter presence. Nice carbonation. Will buy more of this in the summer if it’s still around.

Bottle. Pour is a nice clean orangish gold with a decent head that dies down almost immediately. Aromas are weak... A little grain dust and a mild hop presence is all I pick up. Flavor is more interesting, but pretty washed out. Caramel malt up front with a bland tropical fruit finish.

Drank from the bottle. A hoppy lager? Who woulda thunk it? Mild hoppiness and a little citrus; smooth finish. A lager that hopheads can enjoy.

A nice smooth lager with slight spice notes, reminiscent of an unfiltered whet with a meager hoppiness.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine - Pours a crystal clear copper color with a one finger thick off white head. Very light lacing. Aroma is pungent pine, resin, and herbal hops. Very nice. Flavor is the same with the addition of some floral hops and lightly sweetened malt. Has a lively hoppy finish. Medium body. Well done Boston Brewing Co.
