3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated March (2014?). The pour is a slightly cloudy medium amber with a soft, silky off-white head and moderate carbonation. Fascinating aroma of grains, malts, and tropical fruit. Low to medium hop note. The body is medium. The taste has an upfront buttery graininess which is followed quickly by a low to moderate hope feel. But it has its own character and is rather enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Enjoy before: 07/13. A clear copper pour with a thick and fluffy antique white head that leaves rings of lacing behind. The subdued aroma features some caramel, a bready maltiness, hints of rye, pine, citrus rinds, and some grapefruits. Thin to medium-bodied. Caramel and some sizable bready qualities start things off taste-wise. Cereal grains and some spiciness in the middle. Zesty rinds and some bitter grapefruits at the end. Kinda stale. Wet cardboard qualities abound. This was much more enjoyable when it was fresh.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle. Pours clear golden with a fluffy white head. Big hop aromas. Citrus and pine flavors. This is a fairly new style I am seeing out there and Sam Adams seems to have nailed it.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I give Sam Adams credit for this unique IPA + Lager fusion. It is certainly like a Sam Adams Boston Lager mixed with an IPA. Hop aroma and taste with a background that is crisp, smooth, and a tiny bit bitter. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: pours a light copper color with a big fluffy off white head. Aromas of caramel, pine and resin. Flavor is very nice... resin and pine, but some sweet caramel too. It’s all mellow and super drinkable, though. Awesome stuff. Definitely pushes the innovation factor and gets a few extra points there. Such a simple concept, but done so very well.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours clear gold with a small white top. Aroma is citrus and earthy hops with some cereal malts. Taste is a pleasant citrus hop flavouring with a strong malt backing. Well balanced, tastes just like a proper IPA.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells hoppy, citrusy. Nice copper/gold color, off-white head. Smoother than I was expecting. Bittersweet, piney, orange, some lemon. Very nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle: Pours a clear deep golden bronze with a clingy-lacing froth of off-white head. Has a fresh herbal hoppy nose with notes of citrus and pine atop lightly toasted caramel malts. Starts with good fullness and appropriate carbonation along with lightly sweet pale malts and good resiny hop flavor and bitter balance. Smooth and very drinkable.
