COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

pours clear pale golden with a nice white head, some retention. toasted wheat and light caramel, shy fruitiness, some pine and herbal leafiness, peppery and spicy - light yeast. average to soft carbonation, light to medium body, nice short spicy-citrusy finish. dry and crisp.

Bottles. Pours out a yellow color with a white head. Smell is citrus, fruity, grassy. Taste is smooth and refreshing, pretty good - it actually does not have that signature Sam Adams taste that every beer they brew has. Good stuff.

Nice rich gold pour with beige head. Smell is tea like hops and fruit. Taste is crisp tea like hops and moderate crisp bitterness. Good full body and prickly carbonation. Pretty drinkable and feels like a pretty strong ipa hop wise. Pretty good but probably wouldn’t get again still.

A strong citrus smell. The head disappeared rather quickly and is weak. The beer is golden in color. It has a decent taste will grapefruit definitely present. Overall a decent beer.

Poured from draft at Mikes Highway Pub. Orange and clear with sticky foamy head. Nice floral hoppy aroma. Smooth pilsner taste with a hop kick. Unusual but I like it

Nice amber/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, nice floral hops, & grain; Flavor of malt, hops, grain, and some citrus; Nicely balanced; Surprised by this one - pretty good.

12 fl oz bottle sample. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a large off-white head. Aromas are nice citrus and some light sweet malts. Taste is well balanced between bitter citrus and a cereal like malt. Clean, crisp, and well balanced on the palate with a medium astringent finish. This is a really nice beer reminiscent more of an APA than an IPA.

Pours a clear light amber with frothy almond head. Aroma is strong citrus with sappy pine notes. Flavor has a slight initial bitter bite that slowly recedes across the palate. Nothing too stand-outish but there is nothing bad about this one.

Bottle from the summer 12-pack. Ticker’s delight, if not necessarily taster’s delight. Looks and pours much like other SA beers, medium orange with a fine, filmy head. Nose is a bit sharper, though, with a dry, bracing quality that one expects from a crisp lager but backed up by abundant tropical notes. Flavor wasn’t quite up to the promise for me, as it came together in a too indistinct sweetness, and the dry notes weren’t prominent enough for my tastes. Solid though.

aroma typical of grapefruit andpine ipa time...finish is bit different than an ipa thats the only difference i can tell this thing is hoppy as hell..nice head that stays has that SA signature taste hops strong on the tounge darker than a pale lager well done Sam!!!
