3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours amber gold with finger of yellow off white froth. Aroma of grapefruit, hay, apricot. Medium bodied, with a smooth, corn lager like finish. Classic samual adams malts prominent. Flavor is modestly bitter, grapefruit rind, balanced with soft caramel and hay. Pretty good, nice drinkable lager with character.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a crystal clear light orange with a large (2-3 finger) white fluffy head that diminished slowly, down to a few large puddles and large collar with good sticky lacing.
The aroma was of a grain malt, floral and pine hops and a moldy yeast with notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit and orange peel) and a touch of tropical fruit.
The taste was nice and hoppy right off the bat with a slight floral taste and a touch of citrus and caramel early on, and then had a light bitter citrus peel presence take over along with a bold pine hop presence and had a light fruity ending. The flavor hung around for an average duration after the swallow, with a decent hoppy fruity taste left to settle on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was light in body and dry in texture with a lively carbonation.
Overall this was an exceptionally smooth and easy to drink brew, with a nice hoppy beginning and a mild fruitiness at the end...

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Some nice orange peel and floral hop notes. Hints of grapefruit, a light pine aroma, and sweet bready malt. There’s a good citrus quality of grapefruit and orange to the flavor. Light pine, some bread, floral hops, and a touch of grass. Mild bitterness and a dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a clear orange/amber with a thin white head that dissipates immediately. Aroma is big on hops. Floral and citrus hop notes. Taste is crisp and bitter. More citrus and floral hops and that unique lager yeast. Well balanced, hop forward and highly drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a light orange color. Really nice grape-y aroma. Quite light with a good amount of bitterness. Then this session hoppy beer heads into lager territory. Quite well done. Almost a half and half.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the spring variety pack. Pours a clear light amber/deep gold with a 1-finger fluffy white head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma is typical for an IPA: big pine punch with a hint of flowers and citrus. Taste follows suit, but is a little bit more mellow than an actual ale. Light mouthfeel and clean finish typical of a lager. This is a darn good beer, although I don’t think it’s quite as "groundbreaking" as Sam Adams hoped it would be. Very similar to Sierra Nevada Torpedo overall, but light enough to session easily.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
I thought this seemed like an odd IPA til I saw the description as IPL. Nice hoppiness with citrus flavor, mainly grapefruit. Dry finish, not a long finish. Flavorful but mild. Enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I have always been skeptical of Sam Adams. There’s no way that a mainstream beer company could be as good as a bells or an arcadia. Then I tried this beer. This is a solid IPAish beer. I’m not usually a fan of lagers of any variety but this is definitely one of my favorites. Solid looking white head that dissapears relatively quickly. This beer pours a thin looking amber color that’s completely clear. Nose is wonderful, grapefruit and hops mostly, this is probably my favorite nose I’ve ever had in an ip(l)a. Taste is weakly hopped and very lagery but good. There’s enough flavor to back up the lagery weakness. Its a very full tasting beer. The flavor is very refreshing, this is definately a beer I could get with dinner somewhere. Overall, I am impressed. I am very excited to try more Samual Adams beers after this.
