3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle; poured a clear orange type color with a medium frofthy white to off white head. Aroma of pine, caramel, and earth; some citrus. Flavor had a more bready presence. Lager like backbone, gives way to a piney/earthy hop taste that finishes rather muted and subdued. If this is a pale lager, obviously a good one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle from Lizardville Rocky River. Clear light orange pour with a big foamy white head. Citrus and floral nose with a bit of lager yeast. Taste brings some pine into the mix - easy drinking, flavorful, and a crisp clean finish. Really well done.

Pours a clear copper color with rings of lace throughout. Aroma is pine, lager yeast. Lager taste with a finish of piney hops on the finish. Interesting beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Mari’s. I was nervous about this one but it sure didn’t disappoint. Pours clear copper with a small off white head and some carbonation. The aroma is pretty fragrant with some big pine, floral notes, and then some of that bready lager. The taste has a nice hop bite followed by some citrus balance.. with a dry finish. This guy is pretty wild and the best lager i’ve ever had.. cool concept.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Pours deep golden with long lasting, foamy, white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of orange, citrusy hops and bready malt. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Citrusy hops, bready and caramel malt some cotton candy fill the moth. Finish is long IPA like. There is some mismatch of flavors but, on the whole, it is good brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Poured clear, light, orangey-golden with a sticky beige head. The aroma picked up fresh pine, black pepper, and citrus hoppage over sweet caramel and bready notes.. fresh and quite nice. The flavor found bitter pine resin and grapefruit throughout, with caramel and lesser fruit supporting.. bitter, refreshing finish. Light-medium bodied, bitter, and engaging on the palate.. great stuff overall!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Well this certainly wasn’t that hoppy but the beer itself was okay. Light and a bit crisp. It was good but not nearly as good as it seems to be rated.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle- Pours light clear copper with a one finger white creamy head. Aroma is very nice, West Coast hops, grapefruit, resinous pine, the malt is there, but in check. The taste is hoppy, grapefruit, you do taste the malt more in the taste, I want to say caramel malt, but that sounds bad, it’s not strong enough for that. The body is medium, carbonation is medium high. I liked it, the aroma I was massively impressed with, the rest was just decent.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle, best by July 2013, part of the Spring Thaw Variety Pack--$15.99ish at Vons. Clear golden amber, one finger off-white creamy head, good retention. Citrus herbal hops dominate, a touch grassy, with some lightly toasty biscuit malt and lager yeast backing. Flavor follows suit, but seems to pull back a bit on the hops and allows the malt to come through. Still not all that sweet, though, and has the typical metallic Sam Adams lager yeast characteristics. Semi-dry, bitterness peaked at a 3. Moderate carbonation with a smooth light to medium body. Not too bad, but not my favorite IPL by a longshot--solid enough offering from such a big brewery, though.
