COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

Pours clear, dark amber with a whipped, off-white head. Scent is strong grapefruit peel and pine. Taste is peppery citrus, malt. Very crisp with a nice tingling bitter throughout. A nice one.

12oz into a glass. Smell upfront is ipa hoppy, with citurs, grapefruit and then dried lemon. Its a nice mix when the inital taste comes in mildly malty, disntincly lager like, mellow and crisp, then the hops advance in the aftertaste and the beer finished ipa like. Fruitty emissions of orange, pineapple and peach. I enjoy the sessionalbe status of this, as the aroma and taste presume otherwise, but Ill trust the bottle. Colori s mild orange, light tan and mellow sunshine.

12 oz. bb Jun 2013. Clear topaz with a large, lasting head. Aroma is clean spicy lemon grass, resin, plus a dab of caramel and toast. Flavor starts the same with the lemongrass and resin, then later develops a hint of white pepper. A bit of earthy honey sweetness balances. Mild toast in the long finish. Light-medium body is smooth, with light carbonation and well balanced. Nice sessioner.

12oz bottle, Spring Thaw Variety Pack, 2013, mixed 12pk. Deep amber color. Thick creamy foam, huge lacing. Sweet aromas of hops, nice citrus & pine. Nose of floral bread. Tastes crisp, pale malts, very refreshing. Nice mellow bitterness for an India-style. Finishes with a apricot juice essence. Very nice, a top Sam Adams! (3586)

Clear gold with a generous bright white head. Grassy hops aromas supported by a solid bready malt base. Herbal and earthy grass hops taste followed quickly by doughy bread, with nice peppery highlights. Light body, lively carbonation, pillowy soft mouthfeel and a crisp clean finish.

Pours a translucent amber orange with no head. Aroma of piney and citrus hops. Taste is lager yeast, hops and creamy malt. Nice drinkable hoppy lager. This may be Sam Adams' best! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very good. Very similar to a victory prima pils. Very hoppy, pine and grapefruit. Tastes like a beer that would be higher abv than 5.0

Bottle. Poured pale yellow with a largish white head. Aroma was citrus, tropical fruits, some pine. Flavor was citrus, tropical fruit, some pepperiness, crisp lager. Light to medium body. Actually, a quite successful brew, in my opinion.

12 ounce bottle from a mixed 12 pack purchased at Food4Less in Woodland. Comical that this is listed as a Pale Lager. Why not a Premium Lager? The aroma on this is quite hoppy with a significant floral presence along with some perfume. Light pine, and light honeydew melon, too. This is nicely aromatic. Transparent orange body present with a medium, strong off-white head present. Starts with a great deal of piney, resinous hop flavors. Becomes a little herbal in the middle. Light biscuity malts then come through, before this finishes with more bitterness. Floral bitterness towards the finish. An intriguing brew, but certainly not a Pale Lager.
