COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

Pours clear gold with a small white top. Aroma is citrus and earthy hops with some cereal malts. Taste is a pleasant citrus hop flavouring with a strong malt backing. Well balanced, tastes just like a proper IPA.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a clear golden amber with a nice white head and some lacing, aroma has a little but if citrus and hops, more bread than anything, the flavor has a nice hop front end with a crisp finish, not bad at all

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a three finger off white foamy head lasts for a good three minutes, speckled slightly foamy spider web lacing graces the pilsener and leaves some rings, slowly moving carbonation is seen rising. The smell had some grassy hops up front, slight pepper tones in the back and slightly underneath are the malts. The taste had a nice peppery/spiciness as the hops and malts combine to give a good hoppy kick. The palate was about a medium, sessionable, some slight harshness on the tongue, no aftertaste, sticky finish. Overall, this is a nice pale lager that I would come back to, too bad my whole six pack is gone.

Grabbed the Hop Project mix sixes from Duane Reed. Pours clear copper with one finger soapy white head that dissipates quickly. Great nose of grapefruit. Tastes of tropical fruit, grapefruit, bready, light tea leaves, and cloves. Very drying and smooth.

Well in some ways this is kinda like SABL that has been hammered with hops. It has the same smooth rounded malt profile of SABL, but a big resiny, catty, spicy hop nose and flavor profile. Fairly enjoyable but the hops were maybe a little on the harsh side, got a bit tiresome to drink after awhile.

4/16/2014. From bottle. Amber color with a white head. Not sure why this would be listed as an Imperial Pils at 5%. Maybe the IPL is India Pale Lager? In any regard, very tasty, well made, good hoppy flavors.

Nice, an India Pale Lager. Part of their Spring Thaw mixed pack. Rich golden colour with a frothy off-white head that stays very long, and creates thick foamy lacing. Beautiful full IPA Cascades hoppy nose with the typical grapefruit notes. The difference is in the taste. Pretty much the same, but much milder. Still, the grapefruits and pines are present. I really enjoyed this switch on the style, from ale to lager.

As far as aroma with all those hops it seems they act to cancel each other out instead of complimenting. Quite a sweet and muddled nose with caramelised blood orange and tangelos dominating an otherwise piney, woody and nutty backdrop with the faintest hint of kelp and burnt matches. Settles in the glass a misty, pastel orange with little life and a wash of suds atop. A much cleaner and refined palate is displayed. Lighter than expected in body with tight, spritzy carbonation. Quite tart with a vinous quality seeing through to a dry, white wine and sour berry finish. Quite a medial bitterness that is lost underneath the fruit. Malt is biscuity like fresh baked rock cakes. Not exactly an exciting number it pales against other lagered India pales I have tried. May be a re-rate of a fresher batch is needed. (12fl.Oz, BBE 02/15, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

Bottle from Canals. It was ok. Some nice hop, pine, floral. A mild peppery and grapefruit finish.
