4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
The veer looked very nice in the Pilsner glass I chose, with a golden colored clear body, a two finger thick head, and lots of fine carbonation. The smell was typical of a West Coast IPA, with lots of grapefruit, orange peel, and some pine, as well as some spicy smells. The taste was juicy, citric, very clean, and had some bubblegum notes in mid sip, with clean finish. I drank the beer warm from the grocery store yesterday, and it taste a bit lifeless. With time to chill today, the beer was much more lively. The mouthfeel was very soft, aided by the pillowy head, and about a billion finely textured carbonation bubbles. This is one the best beers to ever come out of the Sam Adams brewery collections.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours amber gold with finger of yellow off white froth. Aroma of grapefruit, hay, apricot. Medium bodied, with a smooth, corn lager like finish. Classic samual adams malts prominent. Flavor is modestly bitter, grapefruit rind, balanced with soft caramel and hay. Pretty good, nice drinkable lager with character.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a three finger off white foamy head lasts for a good three minutes, speckled slightly foamy spider web lacing graces the pilsener and leaves some rings, slowly moving carbonation is seen rising.
The smell had some grassy hops up front, slight pepper tones in the back and slightly underneath are the malts.
The taste had a nice peppery/spiciness as the hops and malts combine to give a good hoppy kick.
The palate was about a medium, sessionable, some slight harshness on the tongue, no aftertaste, sticky finish.
Overall, this is a nice pale lager that I would come back to, too bad my whole six pack is gone.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Didn’t know this would be a premium lager. Tastes more like a pale ale. Nice hops with some malty character. Good beer. Go ravens.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This aroma is pure hops, but a distinct undercurrent of spruce comes through. When poured, this beer is orange in color, and there is a medium head that dissipates quickly. When sipped, the beer is of a medium bitterness and slightly salty, and the combination of this beer’s abrupt finish, average carbonation, medium body, and sticky texture do make this beer a mouthful.

Surprising hop nose. Citrus hop with balance front he malt. Not a very long finish, but solid beer, very reminiscent of ipa

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle pours a clear bronze/amber color with bubbles rising in the center toward a tw0-finger off-white head that lasts. Aroma is just as good as the appearance and as expected from an IPA: piney, grapefruit, lemon and some caramel. Body is light to medium with very lively carbonation. Taste is bitter with some sweetness in the middle. Seems like more than 5% ABV to me. Despite the hype on the bottle, this one exceeded my expectations: drinks like a lager but with the flavor of an IPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear bronze with about a finger of beige head that leaves some soapy lace behind. Nose involves honey and biscuits, some herbal perfume, light pine resin and citrus notes. Fairly sweet but quite a bit more bitter. Lighter side of medium bodied, active, a touch oily, with a crisp bitter finish. A pretty cool brew, nice hop and malt combo, and certainly easy drinking.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sam Koch is a kook. Like his beers or not his passion and spirit make for some fun (and good) beers.
This ipa, pardon me, ipL is good. Pours a nice golden color with amber hues and a big thick fluffy just off-white foamy head. The aroma and flavor are a little grassier than your average ipa or apa. Flavor is of a grassy, flat ipa, but not in a bad way (just dont know how to describe it with more positive words).

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Spring Thaw Variety Pack. Crystal clear, light brown to amber. Vibrant aroma of grapefruit, pine, stonefruits, earthy. This is a really cool beer, you can identify the lager aspects on the finish, but up front it is all IPA, the Sam Adams proprietary yeast strain is in there too, almost resembles a very hopped up Boston Lager. Nice mouthfeel too - a bit slick with good carbonation. This is not a new concept, Coney Island does one too (Sword Swallower), but this is well executed.
