COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

12 oz bottle from the Spring Thaw sampler case. Very pleasing with a freshness all about. No bite from hop excess or associated bitterness. A vague creaminess throughout.

Clear dark golden pour with a bubbly white head. Strong pine and grapefruit hop aromas. Nicely balanced flavor, the citrus and pine hops are still strong but there is a nice sweet malt finish. Crisp and smooth body, a very nice lager.

Pours a hazy golden yellow amber with a long lasting white head and lacing. Aroma and Taste of pine citrus hops, caramel malt, sweet fruity notes and mild bitterness, some light grapefruit tangy notes. A medium palate, crisp with moderate carbonation. Has a nice malt finish balance by pine citrus and slight tangy grapefruit notes. Has a bit of lager in it. Overall a good drinking brew.

Pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma of citrus, pale malt, tropical fruits and burnt rubber. Taste is tropical fruits, citrus and pine with a nice malt backbone. Exceeded my expectations

330mL bottle (BB: Dec 2013). Pours crystal clear golden sunset with a small white head. A very nice piney citrus aroma and, even though its past the BB date, a heck of a lot fruity caramel flavour with that crisp clean flavour only a lager can produce. Very nice.

From a 6-pack of SA hoppy beers. For me, this shows why IP is better followed by A than L. The citrus/pine hops are there (mostly flavor, not bitterness) against a clean lager body. I think it needs an ale backbone. Not that it is really sweet, but it has an almost cloying citrus aspect to it. Or maybe I’m just used to German or Saaz hops in my lagers. Not the nest of both worlds, or of either world.

Draft. A nice hoppy lager. Nose is nice sweet yeast and hops. Good sweetness and bitterness is the flavor. Interesting.

A clear amber beer with a small white head. The aroma is nutty malt and light citrusy hops. The flavor is likewise balanced, making for an interesting and easy to drink brew.

amber color, aroma of grass/citrus hops, grain, same flavors, all the hop kick of a ipa with the body and finish of a cheep lager, not bad
