Pours a light Copper orange thick tight off white head great lacing from the top. Aroma citrucy hops with some orange and floral notes mild pineyness. Taste follows the nose perfect with a smooth light to medium mouth feel. Awesome beer for the price! Easy drinking but still has a good hoppy character and perfect Sweet maltyness to balance it out. Great session beer! Samuel Adams again thumps it out of the park with this one!

Citrusy hop aroma, clear pale gold color. Smooth as a lager should be but the gold are muddled, nothing comes through cleanly. A bit of a soapy endnote too. Neat but would not buy again.

Lives up to the name. Starts off hoppy but finishes with a lot of flavor and the sparkle of a somewhat dark lager

Straw color. Good lacing. Starts like a lager, but ends with a grain and fruit finish that makes it very interesting. And better than the typical lager

Pours a light amber with a pillow head decent retention and light carbonation. Aromas of fruity/floral hops(grapefruit, pine) and caramel. Flavors of light pine, spruce, light floral, and just a light caramel backbone. Leaves a slight corn/grain aftertaste. Lightly sweet. Mostly comes through like an ipa slightly above the average especially in the nose. Pleasantly surprised with this one!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - MAY 16, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 21, 2013 Shared with Stryzone via Facebook Chat. i read the bottle wrong and thought this was IPA, not IPL. Dave set me straight. It poured a amber gold with a dingy white head and good lacing. Nose is a lot of hops...with flowers, citrus, and some pine. Medium in body and with a very smooth lager mouth feel. Flavor is very rich and shows a ton of west coast hops and the lager smoothness and hops make for a delightful beer. I wonder why more brewers don’t do this. The best of both worlds....lager smoothness and clarity and all the flavor of an IPA.

12 ounce bottle form Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This pours clear darker golden and sports a fluffy white head. In the nose I get grassy hops with honey and flowers. The flavor is full of hops. The IPL must be India Pale Lager. The hops are grass, floral, citrus, and pine. This beer takes hops in a lager to new levels. Confusing an IPA with a lager definitely breaks new ground. This was a delightful surprise and had some hop flavors that were just superior. This ain’t no Boston Lager!
