3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A golden body with a white head that had good retention and great lacing, Aroma had a nice bread cereal malts. Hops were mainly citrus but there was a nice floral presence there too. Flavor had good balance between crisp malts, almost reminding me of a dortmunder. Hops were mainly citrus hops almost like a blend of sweet grapefruit and lemon. There was some mild floral and pine notes to it. Finish was smooth and lightly dry.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the summer 12-pack. Ticker’s delight, if not necessarily taster’s delight. Looks and pours much like other SA beers, medium orange with a fine, filmy head. Nose is a bit sharper, though, with a dry, bracing quality that one expects from a crisp lager but backed up by abundant tropical notes. Flavor wasn’t quite up to the promise for me, as it came together in a too indistinct sweetness, and the dry notes weren’t prominent enough for my tastes. Solid though.

Pours a clear light amber with frothy almond head. Aroma is strong citrus with sappy pine notes. Flavor has a slight initial bitter bite that slowly recedes across the palate. Nothing too stand-outish but there is nothing bad about this one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden amber with a frothy white dissipating crown. Grainy aroma of dusty pale malt, mild citrus and some citrus. Taste is uneventful and okay. Citrus, mild caramel, some grapefruit, mild pine and a lackluster bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Grabbed a sixer for Thanksgiving. Pours from the bottle a mostly clear dark golden color with small white head. Aroma of bready malts, lemon peel, sweet honey, grapefruit. Smells like a malty DIPA. Flavor follows as expected, big bready malts, lemon peels, sweetness, really like a malty DIPA. Slick body, medium high carbonation, big flavor for only 5%. Not bad, but was hoping for a lighter on the malt body and bigger aromatic hop profile.

This was an interesting brew. The malt base and aroma are pretty ordinary for the style, an amber beer. The hops are citrusy but in balance. What makes this beer is the lager yeast, which adds a certain dryness not usual in IPA.

Honey, grass, and lemongrass nose. Crystal clear amber, thick sticky head. Medium body, soft carbonation. Metallic and grassy. Has some nice attributes, but I don’t get what they are trying to accomplish. In the end, I didn’t really enjoy it all that much.

A pretty good lager beer. The addition of the aromatic hops make this taste like a watered down IPA
