Bottle. Aroma is of caramel, semi grainy, hint of alcohol. Rich caramelized flavor; soft lager like crispness, full bodied, may be lacking a bit of complexity, fairly smooth.

Oct 2, 2008 96 vintage. pour is rusty brown with no head. Aroma...sugary sweet with cherries, caramel and some leather/ earthy thing going on. Flavor is very sweet, but has a decent finish that saves it a little. Not bad.

Sep 28, 2008 Two year old bottle courtesy of BigErn. Pours a ruby brown in color with absolutely no head showing on the pour. Smell is highly malty and just a bit of boozey flavors. This is surprisingly good being well aged for a couple of years. This is surprisingly pretty good. Didn’t expect this. Thanks!

Sep 23, 2008 bottle thanks to metzlers in denton tx. pours an amber with ruby hues and beige head. aroma of caramel malt, dark fruits, and alcohol. flavor was sweet and rich with caramel. alcohol was not masked at all. overall i would say good but not great.

Sep 11, 2008 (Bottle). Sweet cream and toffee aroma. Hazy dark amber color, with a creamy off-white head. Flavor is very very sweet, much too sweet really, with predominant molasses and caramel. Sweet sticky finish.

Sep 6, 2008 Draft. Dark amber pour with off white head. Alcohol is easy to pick up on the nose. A nice beer to have if I’m in the mood for liquor.
