Dark brown body with a light white head. Sweet aroma has some toffee, pecan, and brown sugar. Flavor is full with the same toffee and brown sugar. Also has a lightly toasted nutty flavor. Not too sticky on the palate.

December 24, 2014 - bottle from MGM. Brown pour with some head and minimal lacing. Aroma was fruity, caramel, yeast and some alcohol. Taste was dominated by the alcohol. There was some yeast / bread in the background throughout and the sweeness from the fruit and caramel came out in the finish with a sharp dry alcohol. Wish the alcohol was hidden a bit better and this would have been really good.

nose: banana bread with pecans and all, rum, the yeast gets a bit sickly if you ponder too long. palate: gorgeously textured. holy @#$%. liquid bread with thick gooey bubbles! too complex to even begin describing. all on the nutty bready caramelly alcoholly sweet side but oh so much more...and that’s my only complaint: it’s way too sweet for my taste. i feel like im gonna wake 5lbs heavier tomorrow. if you don’t mind then go for it.

Sample at Strong Ale Festival 2014. Comes reddish brown with an average off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, and caramel. Taste is malt, dark fruit, and caramel. Lots of alcohol. Pretty good.

On tap at Granite State on tap. Deep brown with a smallish quickly dissipating off white head. Huge bready caramel raisin dried fruity maltiness with just a touch of alcohol and earthy hop to balance. Nice sipper that I need to spend a little more time getting to know.

probably 4th best or so of the first10 DB’s i’ve tried...similar to Optimator, with a ever so slightly tighter carbonation for a lighter mouthfeel. very sweet and malty. solid effort."

Draft. Dark ruby with decent khaki head. Full body. Alcohol is there and starts to get in the way. Fairly Thick bready malty. Caramel. Dark fruit. Something a little strange, or off putting or something I didn’t quite like that I couldn’t put my finger on. Solid.

At GABF 2013. Pours bronze creamy head. Aroma is syrupy munich maltiness. Taste is sweet caramel, sweet interesting yeast note.

Poured from bottle, pours a clear dark reddish brown with an off white head, aroma is a nice amount of sweetness and a good amount of caramel and dark sugar, the flavor has a dark caramel and sweet front end with a bitter finish, still balanced, not bad.

at tasting, what stood out was the malty characters, toffee among other things. Decent.

Ek! This would be SO MUCH BETTER if I didn’t taste only alcohol with every sip! Any delightful hint of malt is overrun entirely by the booziness of this brew. Huge letdown. Hardly drinkable.
