Sweet, fruity, and malty. Light and floral with a huge fizzy white head. Smooth finish. A good summer beer.

Straw yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of malt, light fruit, plae malt, light yeast and mild lemon. Taste is sweet and malty with light yeast, mild citrus and lemon and finishes up clean. Kinda bland but ok.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 kramer (3876) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 3, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small fizzy white head that left minimal lacing. The nose is very light, just a touch of bready malt and little to no hops. Smells a little grainy as well. The flavor is light as well, some soggy pale grains, a little doughy malt, some minimal bitterness on the finish. Pretty lacking in crispness. Light bodied and a bit watery with fizzy carbonation. Below the standard for these guys. Not one that I cared for.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Corrinado711 (44) - - AUG 31, 2012
Pours transparent straw with short lasting soapy head and some turbidity. Aroma mostly of malt, bread and a faint floral/citrus. Taste is not overpowering and malty at first, then a grassy/crisp aftertaste. Easy to drink, pretty good kolsch.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jgauquie (31) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Nice golden color like a white wine. Taste wasvery floral like a typical Kolsch. I was never a big fan of this style, but it beats drinking a Heiny!
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ericular (227) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 30, 2012
medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lively carbonation, medium-full body but goes down easy. Really creamy texture, spicy going down, then a very bready finish and aftertaste.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6945) - London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2012
Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC during an evening of heavy drinking. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam of a head. Nose is all pale malts, white bread. Medium to strong sweet flavor, very bready, but not cloying at all. There are notes of faint berries and light bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, faintly toasty, more bready malts, mostly white bread. Very sessionable lager. Yeah, very drinkable.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 MarkSachon (332) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2012
12 oz bottle from the sampler case. Not nearly as good as some of the native kolsch styles I’ve had in the past, but a pretty good effort from this side of the ocean. Properly dry and a nice foamy head are two of the good points I can recall.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mrossini (25) - - AUG 25, 2012
First beer of this style I’ve ever had. Not too bad! Definitely going to try some more of them!

Kolsch styles just don’t get enough love. They lack the huge hop flavor or high alcohol of the imperial styles, choosing instead to go for a more subtle and mild flavor. This one is rather grassy on the nose and light citrus on the tongue. Mildly sweet and infinitely drinkable.
