COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Escaping from winter’s darkness, this hazy golden, unfiltered Kölsch style creates a fresh start. Our take on the classic hybrid style grom Cologne, Germany, combines the subtle fruit notes of an ale with the smooth crispness of a lager for a bright, refreshing brew to help escape those lingering cold days.

Aroma: Bready, maybe stale. Pulling weeds from the garden. Appearance: Nice golden hue - has suspended particulates. Taste: OK - kind of starts like an american pilsner, but doesn’t have that corn slapback. Palate: Nice mouthfeel. Good carbonation and mild body for a summer brew. Overall: Nothing much here convincing me that I should revisit this.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thin one centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, light fruit and hints of very light herbal hops. Light-bodied; Nice fresh apricot and peach flavours at first with a very mild earthy malt note, some light grassy and herbal flavours, all finishing with a light yet noticeable yeast and honey sweetness. Aftertaste is robust and complex with some good flavours and a nice depth. Overall, a surprisingly nice and refreshing beer with a good profile and a solid complexity for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 13-February-2014 for US$1,83 sampled at home in Washington on 07-July-2014.

A good attempt at a Kolsch style beer. Not my cup of tea and they are too spread out (too many different beers) to make some really good ones!

Bottle. Clear light gold body with white head. Aroma of bread and light notes of raw grain, pear, grass, fruity esters, floral hops. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not as clean as a classic kolsch, but easy drinking.

Appearance has a golden yellow color supporting a thin head leaving nil lace. Smell is grainy, malty with a slight zip of hops. Taste is again grainy with light malt and light hop. Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. Not an overly impressive beer has a off bitter bite in the end.

Sampled from a Spring Sampler 12’er; one thing’bout Boston Beer Company is there are scads of beer flavors to try out from thier ever expanding menu. By the way, what is grom?

Clear pale gold with a medium-sized white head. Malty aroma comes across with a raw grain / flour quality, yeast is dusty and lightly estery (pears and apricots) with quiet off-notes of soap and metal. Medium-light body, lightly sweet, acidic and sour with faint bitterness.

I’ve never really had any "Kolsch" style beers I guess. Maybe I have, I don’t know. This was pretty decent. It had a fruity sort of bready aroma. Nothing too hoppy but from what I can tell this style isn’t very hop forward. The taste was very refreshing. Kind of wheat meets fruit meets bread. I liked it. It was a refreshing beer for sure.
