3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden amber color with a two finger head of thick white foam. Over time the head starts to fade, leaving just a moderate sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a crisp cracker smell mixed with some bready and fruit aromas of a more apple and pear nature. Along with these smells comes some lighter notes of a yeasty smell and a little bit of a grassy hop.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice blend of cracker, bread, and some fruit. The fruit is strongest of an apple and pear smell but contains some lighter notes of citrus as well. Right from the start there is a yeasty and grassy taste, with these flavors getting stronger as the taste moves on further. All the while, the apple and pear fruit fade ever so slightly, but are replaced by a mix of sweet citrus and some grapefruit hop flavors. With some hay and grain flavors coming more toward the end, one is left with a rather crisp and refreshing yeasty kolsch flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the style the feel is rather nice and suits the easy drinking feel and crisp refreshing nature of the brew.
Overall – A rather enjoyable and refreshing spring/summer style brew with a crisp and flavorful taste.

Bottle en route to JFK. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. The nose has some biscuity pale malts, slight jammy citrus, grain. Light-medium sweet flavor with pleasant dry biscuits, corn bread, hay, citrus rind. Light bodied with average carbonation. OK balance to finish, some pale bread, more biscuits, lemon peel, dough, faint white grape, cereal. Pretty tasty overall.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Moriartys. Cloudy amber gold pour that starts with a strong frothy white head. Lots of lace. Orangey witbier aroma. Tastes of sweet clementine marmalade on buttery croissants. Honey tangerines. More citrus and fuller body than I was expecting. Has some yeasty/bready notes that feel properly German, but not necessarily Kolsch. Misses the style, but not all that bad.
