COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Escaping from winter’s darkness, this hazy golden, unfiltered Kölsch style creates a fresh start. Our take on the classic hybrid style grom Cologne, Germany, combines the subtle fruit notes of an ale with the smooth crispness of a lager for a bright, refreshing brew to help escape those lingering cold days.

Draft at Moriartys. Cloudy amber gold pour that starts with a strong frothy white head. Lots of lace. Orangey witbier aroma. Tastes of sweet clementine marmalade on buttery croissants. Honey tangerines. More citrus and fuller body than I was expecting. Has some yeasty/bready notes that feel properly German, but not necessarily Kolsch. Misses the style, but not all that bad.

TATE (341) - Lubec, Maine, USA - APR 12, 2015
Bottle. Pours a murky gold with almost no head. Aroma is lemony. The looks were not appealing but the taste is very refreshing with some lemon up front, malt in the middle and a dry end. Not a whole lot of flavor but a nice light spring beer.

dmac (4501) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - APR 10, 2015
12oz bottle from Spirits Manahawkin. Pours a mostly clear gold body with a smaller quick fading white head. Aroma/flavor is mostly malts, bready, grains lightly sweet, fruity esters. Very boring beer.

Bready and slightly fruity. Very mild mannered in a lack luster way. Over all very simple and boring.

PlainsDrifter (83) - Adelphi, Maryland, USA - APR 4, 2015
Pours a deep yellow with significant white head. Aroma of hay, banana. Slick texture, light body, medium carbonation. Very light malt flavor with hop bitterness. Not very strong flavor on this one, but it is not bad.

scooterbub (902) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - APR 3, 2015
12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a one inch white head that lasts. Taste is of malt, caramel, hops, citrus, grass, yeast and dark fruit. Similar aroma. Has a decent body with a fruity finish. Easy to drink, but could be more rounded.

X (66) - California, USA - MAR 30, 2015
Weak and watery with some sweet corn and a bready malt base. Very underwhelmed, perhaps this is an authentic kolsch, perhaps not. If so, its hard to claim that this is a significantly different beer than your basic pale lager.

Bork (401) - Rosewood, Georgia, USA - MAR 29, 2015
Light and refreshing drink for the early spring sunshine. Some fruit but mostly water and a somewhat annoying metallic note at the dry end.

bottle - Pours yellow-gold with a two finger white head. It has a mild aroma with grain and citrus. The flavor is mild and sweet with malt grain, fruit esters, and a mild bitterness. Light bodied. Okay.
