This rich and luscious brew indulges in flavor with over 28Ibs of pumpkin per barrel, for a full bodied sweetness and deep russet color. Classic pumpkin pie spices of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice ignite a warmth and spark that’s deepened by an undercurrent of roasty smoked malts. The result is a delectable brew full of enveloping layers of flavor and spice. At Samuel Adams we love experimenting. This series of limited edition brews represents some of our favorite small batch creations. Style: Pumpkin Beer Hops: East Kent Goldings, Fuggle Malts: Samuel Adams Two-Row Pale Malt Blend, Caramel 60, Special B, Smoked Malt Extras: Real Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Allspice

Initially released on tap as "Double Pumpkin" in 2011, it was bottled as "Fat Jack Double Pumpkin" in 2012.

Poured from 1 pint 6 fl oz bottle. Clear, copper with beige head. Pumpkin, nutmeg, a little cinnamon and toffee. Flavours are bold and come to the forefront. Alcohol is mostly hidden. Medium body.

2014/11/16 - Pours a clear, dark amber colour with a thick, foamy, khaki head that slowly reduces to a linger surface film and leaves ample lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, dark fruits, and spices. Smell reminds me of a doppelbock. Taste is sweet caramel and dark fruits, with pumpkin spices and a hint of pumpkin and booze. Slightly metallic. Mouthfeel is medium with smooth carbonation and a sweet, mildly boozy finish. An above average pumpkin ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1pt 6floz. Pours a clear amber with an orange tinged beige head. Almost acidic apple notes, with the usual pumpkin pie spices, alcohol, light caramel, raisin, and light alcohol on the nose. Sweet, but not overpowering with surprising doppelbock-like notes, dried fruits, raisin, candied fruit, and a light spicy burn up front that leads into more dark dried fruits, light metallic hops, with some more spice in the finish with light molasses, and fruit cake notes. A very pleasant surprise. I just can’t get on the pumpkin beer bandwagon, but this, this comes across as some kind of spiced bock mutant, and I like it A LOT. Very good. A definite repeat purchase.

Filtered, cherry wood colouring with a thin white head and mild carbonation. Aromas of pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Tastes of pumpkin pie, replete with all of the accompanying spices. Nice malty backbone too. Better balanced than a lot of pumpkin beers. This is my 11th pumpkin beer of this fall, and this is my 3rd favourite. Very nice beer. Would buy again.

Bottle, shared with TylerDurden. Deep copper-red, average light tan head. Aroma is sweet and spicy. The palate is loaded with sweet malt and spices, with flavours of molasses and all spice nearly smothering any pumpkin notes. TylerDurden didn’t like it (too spicy and too sweet he said), but I thought it was pretty good.

The beer pours a dark orange, with a thin tan coloured head. The aroma was pumpkin, spices, and citrus. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy, with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt, pumpkin, spices, and a citrusy finish. The alcohol is noticeable, but doesn’t detract.

@ Havregatan 141112. Bottle (650 ml) from Systembolaget (60:-). Sweet malty and spicy with caramely notes, sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is malty, spicy and sweet. Lots of spices.
