COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich and luscious brew indulges in flavor with over 28Ibs of pumpkin per barrel, for a full bodied sweetness and deep russet color. Classic pumpkin pie spices of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice ignite a warmth and spark that’s deepened by an undercurrent of roasty smoked malts. The result is a delectable brew full of enveloping layers of flavor and spice. At Samuel Adams we love experimenting. This series of limited edition brews represents some of our favorite small batch creations. Style: Pumpkin Beer Hops: East Kent Goldings, Fuggle Malts: Samuel Adams Two-Row Pale Malt Blend, Caramel 60, Special B, Smoked Malt Extras: Real Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Allspice

Initially released on tap as "Double Pumpkin" in 2011, it was bottled as "Fat Jack Double Pumpkin" in 2012.

Enticing the senses of taste and smell with that of spices and pumpkin, this is a particularly good pumpkin beer.

Poured from the bottle into a cup. Pours a dark brown with a medium sized foamy tan head. Aroma consists of malt, pumpkin, spices, and yeast. Taste is salty with emphasis on the pumpkin. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth feel. I did not like this one like I thought I would. Very mediocre beer

Transfer from BA review on 10-4-13- Poured from bottle into a snifter glass Appearance – The beer pours a deep ruby/mahogany color bordering on brownish. Upon pouring there is a one-half inch finger of tan colored head. The head fades over a moderate amount of time leaving a decent level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass and a good level of bubbly persistent foam on the surface of the brew. Smell – The aroma has lots of roasted pumpkin with a good deal of brown sugar and toffee sweetness. Along with these aromas, are some lighter spice aromas of nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon. A little bit of a bready aroma and a small amount of roasted nut are there as well. Taste –The taste begins with a sweet caramel and toffee flavor mixed with a good dose of smooth roasted pumpkin. The sweetness is much more then I was anticipating from the nose, with the roasted pumpkin being much less. Spice flavors are present from the start, with flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice all present. For the most part the spice remains at a rather low level with the nutmeg and cinnamon flavors increasing a bit more toward the end. Some light bitter nutty and earthy flavors come to the tongue at the end, balancing out the sweetness a bit. Along with this, so too comes some alcohol flavors, which in the end when mixed with the rest, leave a nice warming and moderately sweet pumpkin pie flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the creamier and chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The thicker and chewier body are rather nice for the sweeter pumpkin flavors of the brew and make it a rather nice slow sipper. Overall – A rather tasty pumpkin ale. It’s a little on the sweeter side for an imperial pumpkin ale, but is still balanced in many respects, as it has a good blend of booze, spice, and pumpkin to tame the sweet. Overall a rather enjoyable drinker.

"Really looking forward to this as the only fault of the harvest pumpkin is it’s lightness. I was hoping this would stand up to some of the better big pumpkin beers out there. While I enjoyed it, and the body was good, the spices totally overpowered any pumpkin presence. Cardamom among others. More pumpkin and more mellow spices and this coulda been a contender."

Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 22 oz bomber. Very dark copper pour, thick khaki colored head. Aroma of molasses and nutmeg. Flavor has just a hint of chocolate. some pumpkin pie spice, hints of nutmeg and cinnamon and some molasses floating around in the back end. Mouthfeel has a a decent rich thickness to it Probably the best o of the at least 20 or so pumpkin beers I have had in the past 2 or 3 weeks.

Draft sample at Fishale. Light aroma of caramel and vanilla. Flavor is very spicy and finishes with lingering cinnamon. Okay but the pumpkin is buried deep.

Lots of spice. Some vegetal and malt aroma. Opaque red brown with a thick light tan head that lingers leaving a good amount of lacing. Glassy smooth. Sweet. Lots of pumpkin lots of spice. Very well balanced. I like it. Just a hint of esters on the finish.

Pours a clear copper-amber with a light taupe foamy head. Smells like the inside of a hulled jackolantern that has candle char. Moderately thick, pleasant mouthfeel. Pumpkin pie, cardamom, and a bit of char smoke. Horehound hard candy as well.

Nice balance. Medium pumpkin, plenty of spices. Rounded sweetness, bit of dry earthy hops on the finish. Decent
