COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich and luscious brew indulges in flavor with over 28Ibs of pumpkin per barrel, for a full bodied sweetness and deep russet color. Classic pumpkin pie spices of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice ignite a warmth and spark that’s deepened by an undercurrent of roasty smoked malts. The result is a delectable brew full of enveloping layers of flavor and spice. At Samuel Adams we love experimenting. This series of limited edition brews represents some of our favorite small batch creations. Style: Pumpkin Beer Hops: East Kent Goldings, Fuggle Malts: Samuel Adams Two-Row Pale Malt Blend, Caramel 60, Special B, Smoked Malt Extras: Real Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Allspice

Initially released on tap as "Double Pumpkin" in 2011, it was bottled as "Fat Jack Double Pumpkin" in 2012.

Fat jack double pumpkin pours rich red brown with a fine head of small bubbles. Nose is sweet malt, sweet pumpkin hints and light spice. Nutmeg and something else, cinnamon? Body is light and lively. Taste is complex. Medium sweet on the fore, mellow pumpkin middle and finishes warm and with some roasted nut flavors. Very very nice.

Veyr impressive for a Sam Adams brew. Lots of allspice, cinnamon flavors that make this a bit of a spicy pumpkin beer. Nice malty undertones give it a complex body instead of the typical flat pumpkin ales you see everywhere else. Good seasonal.

Pours a deep amber colour with a beige frothy head, good retention and nice creamy lacing. Sweet malt aromas with the caramel and pumpkin pie spices. The taste starts on the sweetness, but less than expected from the scent. The spices balance out the caramel and even some hops show up. Bread notes from the malts lingers. Very smooth going down (oily and silky). Hope the LCBO gets this one every year.

Translucent crimson brown. Quickly dissipating mid sized head. Pleasant caramel, malt, cinnamon, nutmeg and dried fruit aroma. No pumpkin though. Absolutely fantastic. Mid bodied and creamy with a potent taste consisting of nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel, malt, a wee bit of pumpkin, and alcohol. Finish is sweet caramel with some minor hop. Quite good but less emphasis on spice and more emphasis on pumpkin would be optimal.

Let this one sit for about 30 mins. Chilled the taste is lacking some of elements of the beer, this issue is due to all spice. As the beer warms the pumpkin develops more of a presence and lessens the all spice.

Surprisingly tasty pumpkin ale, even more surprising that it came from Sam Adams. Dark brown rust color poured from a 1 pint 6 oz bottle. Pretty good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep amber pour with a thick tan head. The aroma is sweet and spicy. A little bit boozy with some earthy hoppiness and a touch of pumpkin. There is a light sticky caramel flavour and a bit of toffee. Decent brew.

From a bottle. Pours clear ruby copper with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like sweet syrup, roasted pumpkin, light spice, cookie malt. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like sweet roasted pumpkin, pumpkin pie, light spice, molasses.

A beautiful beer. I love pumpkin beer and this is one of my tops in this style. Lots of real pumpkin flavors and jus the right amount of spice to keep it interesting.

1 PT. 6 FL. OZ. bottle. Clear medium copper, fine tan foam mostly lasts. Malty pumpkin spice aroma. Taste is too rich and sweet c-malt, mild toasted pumpkin, over spiced. ABV is well hidden. Average carbonation, medium bodied, low hopped. Next. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
