3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sammys (428) - Portland, Maine, USA - APR 27, 2001
I usually don’t give transparent beers a rating of 5 for appearance, but this DID say ’golden’ on the label...Pilsner isn’t my favorite style, but as far as that style goes, this is one of the better ones. Compares nice to Urquell, I think. Somewhat bitter, very refreshing - this is a TRUE Pilsner.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 proc (342) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - DEC 18, 2000
I gave this beer a 3 on appearance because it is a nice golden color, but the underlying citrus taste detracts from the hops in the beer.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 opiate (199) - Sandy, Utah, USA - DEC 15, 2000
An excellent beer. Light and refreshing, while retaining character. I agree with a previous review that it’s no Pilsner Urquell, but then what is? A good pilsner.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Oakes (10935) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - DEC 2, 2000
Some good Noble hops, but not enough malt or complexity to see it through.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 blatz (138) - Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Florida, USA - NOV 16, 2000
Truly is ’golden’. A great pilsner - great head retention - nice belgian lace - taste is well balanced hoppy flavor with an exquisite crisp finish - not very rich but few pilsners are or should be - a wonderful ’beginner’ beer for those looking to break away from the Budmilloors habit. Cheers!
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gusler (2654) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - AUG 30, 2000
A fair representative of the pilsener family, clean and refreshing, not a fan, many others that I would buy first.
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 beerman991979 (137) - Old Town, Maine, USA - AUG 7, 2000
I am not going to lie and say that pilsners are my favorites, but I was impressed by this beer. It is true to the pilsner style with no overwhelming taste of either malt or hops. It was also true to it’s ’golden’ color. all in all a fairly refreshing beer.
