4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 jmagnus87 (1381) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - JUL 24, 201212oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a clear dark orange with about a finger of white head. Aroma is mostly clove with a little pulpy citrus and pine. Taste is medium bitter. Clove, spicy Belgian yeast and some pine. Medium bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, great. I would gladly drink this again. Another homerun by BBC
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 commonmac (8) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 17, 2013 does not count
An attempt by Sam Adams to be crafty and not exactly a success. Main issue is a lingering unpleasant aftertaste like someone left a hop on the floor and then deposited it at the end of the beer. Overall some decent bitterness but falls short of Belgian IPA expectations.
3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 commonshawn (22) - - MAY 17, 2013
Nice aroma and appearance. Good lacing. A bit soapy, low flavor in middle and ends a bit flat. Good, but doesn’t stack up vs the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DocLock (6789) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Bottles from half a dozen places. Pours clear medium copper with 1-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, orange marmalade, somewhat sweet, with peppery dusty yeasty floral esters. Tastes funky, yeast, sweet, with notes of florals, hops, mango, orange marm, and a sweet somewhat cloying finish with some tannins and a finish that reminds me of Boston Ale, whch you don’t see much anymore. This one makes me grumpy, because it is formulaic, you can taste the preservatives, and I need Jim Koch to really kick it up a notch.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 deyholla (4785) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 14, 2013
On tap at South OKC Old Chicago. Pours a hazy orange gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of light fruits with a bit of citrus, sweet grains and underlying grass notes. Flavor has a good amount of clove with light citrus and grass as well as a strong sweet grain backbone.

Dull, clear orange color with a thin but lasting head. Aroma of soggy orange peels and light Belgian yeast. Sweet up front but the middle and back end is bitter. Citrus flavor lingers. Stronger Belgian qualities would improve this best.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tortman18 (77) - Batavia, Illinois, USA - MAY 11, 2013
American Beer Classic. Pours Opaque brown/orange. Small white head with a lot of lacing. Aroma is very spicy and salty. A lot of yeast and banana. Mouth is very bitter and spicy. Hoppy, nutty and a good amount of yeast. interesting taste for an IPA.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DeliveryDriver (103) - Illinois, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Had it on tap. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a finger length, frothy white head. Lacing is immediately apparent. Nose is piney, with spices and banana. Strong yeasty flavors come out on the tongue. Decent hop bite, much more malty and yeasty flavors stand out. One of the lighter bodied Belgian IPAs I’ve had. I liked it.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Chudwick (1075) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - MAY 9, 2013
12oz bottle (6.5% ABV per label on bottle - enjoy by 06/2013) - pours medium amber with ivory head and decent lacing. Nose is grassy, slightly floral and yeasty. Flavor adds banana sugars similar to that of a weizenbock. Complex in taste department if not chaotic. metallic aftertaste. a strange brew.
