COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perennial favorite at our Brewery Halloween party, this reddish amber ale is perfect for fall. Real pumpkin adds a full body and sweetness, while deep roasted malts lend a toasty finish to this subtly spiced brew.

I have got to say i rolled my eyes when I heard San Adams was jumping on the pumpkin beer bandwagon. But this offering is a bit above most others on the market for the price. First off poured a deeper amber than most pumpkin beers with a finger and a half head. The aroma is very nutmeg and app spice up front but I do get bread malt as well and some subtle real pumpkin aromas. More like a pumpkin bread than a pie. The taste is a rich spiciness and light sweetness. The nutmeg lingers in the mouth. Medium carbonation and a little thin on the palate. A good fall offering.

Poured a great looking reddish amber, medium head. Great pumkin spice nutmeg aroma. Med-bitter bitterness, light sweetnes. Lighter bodied, average carbonation. Good mouthfeel, nice flavors up front, finishes slightly thin. Pretty good stuff. I would drink another.

Sampledvat an esbls tasting. Clear and coppery. Lots of pumpkin and lesser spice in the nose. The flavor is fullnof pumpkin. A little nutmeg. The taste is a bit chemical. Just ok.

Location/Date:First beer rated in over a month. September 21st, on Fall Eve.

Appearance: Pours a brown copper.
Aroma: Some bready malt, and sweetness from pumpkin.
Taste: Light bitterness, somewhat stronger malt, pumpkin is present and sweet but just below a spice level I prefer.
Palate:Slightly below medium body, lingering aftertaste.

Summary: A solid example of the pumpkin ale style, but nothing spectacular.

The aroma has some malt, with a hint of actual pumpkin aroma as well (actual pumpkin, rather than pumpkin pie). The appearance is quite boldly brownish-red, with a little head. Upon sipping the beer, it’s a lot more complex; there’s some ginger as well as some other herbs. The palate is invigorating. This is one of those special beers that Boston Beer Company shows its greatest talent in. Get it, even if you’re not too fond of pumpkin flavoring.

Very good fall beer; not too "pumpkiny", but just enough to let you know its there. Overall, another great choice from Sam’s.

Aroma is spicy with the hint of pumpkin. Flavor is balanced with spice, pumpkin, slightly tart. Very nice crisp finish. The ale is there and not overwhelmed with the other tastes.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange brown with a thin beige head. Big pie spice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Sweet and spicy. Toast, soft malt, simple but clean.

Second week of NFL 2011 and cooler weather made this a favorable choice. Dark red, medium bodied pumpkin ale complimented with roasted malts. Sam Adams figures out a way to deliver a desirable Fall Seasonal.

Bottle poured into tasting glass. Burnt orange amber color, clear, minimal head. Nice aroma of classic pumpkin scents...nutmeg, pie crust, brown sugar, hint of ginger. Taste is pleasant and more of the same plus clove and a hint of boozey warmth. A little thin bodied, but good work overall by Sam Adams. Wish it was available in 6-packs.
