COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perennial favorite at our Brewery Halloween party, this reddish amber ale is perfect for fall. Real pumpkin adds a full body and sweetness, while deep roasted malts lend a toasty finish to this subtly spiced brew.

Smells wonderful and looks absolutely brilliant - very easy drinking.......but didn’t do it for me. Tastes just like their Irish Red with a Pumpkin Pie (or maple syrup) finish.

Pours a sparkling deep copper with a thin, creamy, eggshell head that has good retention and leaves sparse lacing. Aroma is like a sweet pumpkin pie covered in caramel, a little heavy on the allspice, but at an acceptable level. Definitely inviting. Flavor is toast, heavy spice, some pumpkin, earthy leaves and dark caramel. Palate is light to medium bodied, slightly creamy entry, slightly chalky off dry finish. Really nice brew, the flavor didn’t really live up to the aroma for me though.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with reddish-brown tint. Small white head, slight lacing. Nose is spicy, cinnamon, nutmeg. Taste is surprisingly assertive, with stronger nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, and substantial pumpkin. Soft carbonation, finishes smoothly with a slight spice kick. Shockingly solid offering from SA.

12oz bottle. Red-brown color, creamy off-white head. Pronounced sweet, sugary pumpkin aroma. Full on pumpkin tastes, some cinnamon and nutmeg in the aftertaste. Creamy, medium bodied, fresh. Somewhat thin and watery mouthfeel. Nails the style, in a bland way.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2011 Bottle from variety pack. The beer is a chestnut color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pumpkin spices and biscuit malt. Medium body with a pumpkin character accented by hops and malt. The finish is sweet with a grainy malt and nutmeg aftertaste. Above average overall.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 Pours Brown, with pumpkin, spices and slightly roasted malts aromas, looks like a brown ale, tastes like a brwon ale with a touch of pumpkim, bottomline: good look, good aroma & great taste, the best pumpkin ale i´ve ever tried.

Exclusive to the Havest Collection Variety pack for 2010. Deep golden/copper color with an almost reddish tinge and an initially foamy off-white head that rapidly dissipates to a fine lace. Caramel and spice float off the top followed by a malty (but not overly sweet) taste with excellent pumpkin pie spice that is perfectly balanced. The best part is the aftertaste and the "back" aroma that comes when you breathe out and get a secondary spice flavor and a true pumpkin vegetality. Medium bodied and very easy to drink. Unlike a lot of other pumpkin beers, this doesn’t overdo the spices or underdo the pumpkin (which is often undetectable over the spices and sweetness). This is the best pumpkin ale I’ve had in a long time.

This is a good pumpkin ale. Some are far too overdone and result in a sipping beer that takes an hour to finish. This is crisp with the unmissable, delicious pumpkin pie taste.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a deep amber color with a thin, short lived off white head. Faintest of lacing. Aroma and flavor is pumpkin and spice. Just like all the rest of the Pumpkin beers (ST Pumking excluded). Fortunately, the finish didn’t linger. These Pumpkin beers are just a tick. Still, the beer wasn’t bad.

Picked up two 12-oz bottles via Samuel Adams Harvest Collection 12-pack. Pours a clear orange amber colored brew with a creamy beige head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of nutmeg spice, caramel malt, and a hint of gingerbread. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of caramel malt, clove, nutmeg and a hint of spice. Finish is slightly metallic with a mild nutmeg aftertaste.
