3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear dark mapley amber. Quick dissipating fizzy head. Fairly spiced, didn’t find it overboard. Some nice enough pumpkin. Caramel. Toasty. Lighter bodied. A bit watery. Not overly sweet. Not much on the palate. Good drinkability. A very approachable but rather uninteresting pumpkin brew compared to what else is out there.

Hmm, Pumpkin Pie in a bottle. Malty, sweet, nutmeg, clove, etc. A pleasant and unique treat, but not something I would drink often.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice nutmeg and clove on the nose. Appearance is a clear amber with an off white head with ok head retention. Spices are subdued and balanced. Malt is biscuity with a light roast. Hop bitterness is just enough to balance the malt. Mouthfeel is medium-light with medium carbonation. Overall, it's a balance pumpkin ale.

The more Sam Adams beers I drink, the less I like them. This one was no exception, tons of spice in the aroma and extremely sweet taste. Not my cup of tea.

Poured from a bottle into Sam Adam’s perfect pint glass
Appearance – Pours a brownish red colored brew with a thick two finger off-white head. The head has a very nice level of retention but fades over time to leave a light level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of pumpkin and spices of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. With these pumpkin pie aromas is a good dose of caramel and some notes of a brown sugar nature.
Taste – The taste begins of pumpkin and a bready taste. There is a light caramel and brown sugar sweetness that persists till the middle of the taste. With the sweetness some of the pumpkin pie spices begin to get stronger as well. In the end some roastier and more pumpkin coming to the tongue which in the end when combined with the sweet leave a pleasant roasted pumpkin pie flavor on the tongue..
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the creamier and smoother side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The creamy body is quite nice of the roasted pumpkin and spice flavors with the smoothness of the brew giving it a very satisfying feeling on the tongue.
Overall – Not a bad pumpkin brew. It is on the roastier side more toward the end of the taste but it has a nice level of sweetness to balance the pumpkin and spice. It has a very nice mouthfeel and is quite easy to drink. Not too shabby.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Its body has a very nice deep reddish amber color with very clarity. From the pour it makes a good inch of creamy off white foam. It quickly settles down to thin covering that just hangs on to the last sip with the help of a few quick swirls. At the top of the glass it leaves some cool lace patterns. The aroma has mostly cinnamon notes with some other pie spices over rich dark bready and pie crust like malts. There is a pleasant cinnamon and pie spice character with mild bitterness though out. Pumpkin or squash like flavor is very light but it is there and it is supported buy sweet bready and toasty pie crust like malty flavor notes. The finish is fairly quick with mild bitterness and spice.

October 2nd, 2012 - Samuel Adams’ beers have been a thick, syrupy lot, practically pouring out of the bottle with a viscosity that later develops into heavy, sweeping waves of sweet notes. In the same vein is the Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin, which has a more diverse nose, including savory elements of roasted pumpkin and burnt, squash based mallard reactions. But as per tradition, the flavor is heavy with barbecue sauce, roast yams, dark honey and grilled peaches. True, it’s a sweet beer with lots of residual sugars, but the deep caramel flavor with plenty of flavors of roast pumpkin and baked pumpkin seeds, and even a touch of smokiness like a light rauchbier, draw me in. This is definitely one of the better brews to come out of a Samuel Adams variety box.

This is like the light version of Fat Jack. Just tasted pretty much the same but more watered down and less intense. Not bad, but not as good.
