I got this beer in a Sam Adams sampler pack. Consumed right out of the bottle and really enjoyed it. Nothing over the top, but a finely spiced and pumpkin flavored beer.

Pours amber with thin head. Aroma of pumpkin allspice and cinnamon. Aight bitterness. A bit sweet. Too sweet for me. Medium bodied. Overall decent.

Bottle. Hmm ... Just finished a nice pumpkin ale from a local brewery, then cracked this one open and gotta say I like the former better. Sammy always does clean, solid examples of style, but I find this one a bit mellow. It’s darker and more lager/fest-like than some of the gourd-based brews you might sample. (#5286, 10/13/2013)

Great pumpkin beer! Much better then their pumpkin Jack beer. I bought this as part of the Fall Harvest twelve pack.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Great nose, smooth taste, get a great mouthfeel of pumpkin and not over spiced like most pumpkins on the market.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This pours an orange-amber into the glass, with a diminishing head that leaves trace lacing. The nose is of marshmallow and Allspice. Flavors are of true pumpkin meat, not as processed as many of its competitors, with complimentary accompanying pie spices such as nutmeg, Allspice, cinnamon and ginger. The finish brings forth more sweet notes of marshmallow, honey-baked carrots and cinnamon-laden mashed sweet potatoes. Not so much of a "pie" in the mouth, but a dessert casserole that one might pleasantly find on Thanksgiving. Medium-bodied with a light effervescence and aerated palate, this goes down smooth and is one nicely constructed pumpkin offering. Nothing is overdone or forced. Nice job.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Light pumpkin nose, not quite a pumpkin pie scent but close, but the pumpkin comes through cleaner, spices are peripheral, getting mostly nutmeg. Flavor is semi-sweet pumpkin, dry cocoa and nutmeg. Soft, creamy palate, modest hopping apparent at the finish, well built. Given that I dislike most pumpkin beers, this one is a fairly pleasant surprise. I can’t say I love it, but its alright.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Got this beer as part of the Harvest Collection from Sam Adams. Definitely taste the pumpkin and allspice, while the hops and malt let you remember that this is a beer, not a pumpkin pie.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours dark reddish amber with no head. Aroma: holy shit pumpkin spice. Taste: floral potpourri; pumpkin spice, cloves, nutmeg, all that jazz. Palate: light body, lively carbonation. Overall: more or less unpleasant. Turns out I may no longer like pumpkin beers.
