A perennial favorite at our Brewery Halloween party, this reddish amber ale is perfect for fall. Real pumpkin adds a full body and sweetness, while deep roasted malts lend a toasty finish to this subtly spiced brew.

Exclusive to the Havest Collection Variety pack for 2010. Deep golden/copper color with an almost reddish tinge and an initially foamy off-white head that rapidly dissipates to a fine lace. Caramel and spice float off the top followed by a malty (but not overly sweet) taste with excellent pumpkin pie spice that is perfectly balanced. The best part is the aftertaste and the "back" aroma that comes when you breathe out and get a secondary spice flavor and a true pumpkin vegetality. Medium bodied and very easy to drink. Unlike a lot of other pumpkin beers, this doesnít overdo the spices or underdo the pumpkin (which is often undetectable over the spices and sweetness). This is the best pumpkin ale Iíve had in a long time.

This is a good pumpkin ale. Some are far too overdone and result in a sipping beer that takes an hour to finish. This is crisp with the unmissable, delicious pumpkin pie taste.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a deep amber color with a thin, short lived off white head. Faintest of lacing. Aroma and flavor is pumpkin and spice. Just like all the rest of the Pumpkin beers (ST Pumking excluded). Fortunately, the finish didnít linger. These Pumpkin beers are just a tick. Still, the beer wasnít bad.

Picked up two 12-oz bottles via Samuel Adams Harvest Collection 12-pack. Pours a clear orange amber colored brew with a creamy beige head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of nutmeg spice, caramel malt, and a hint of gingerbread. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of caramel malt, clove, nutmeg and a hint of spice. Finish is slightly metallic with a mild nutmeg aftertaste.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2011 Bottle. Rusty amber pour with a short off-white head. Aroma is strong spice (mainly clove, cinnamon and nutmeg), pumpkin pie and gingerbread cookies. Taste is gingerbread, light pumpkin pie, sweet malt, and spices (still mainly clove here but cinnamon is more pronounced). Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more spices, sweet malt, gingerbread cookies and light pumpkin pie flavors.

RE-RATE Bottle. Ruby amber with a short, fizzy tan head. Aroma is strong spices with clove and cinnamon being the most upfront. Touch of pumpkin as well. Taste is relatively sweet, considering the aroma, and mellow on the spices. More clove and cinnamon, light nutmeg, hints of pumpkin pie, touch of caramel, sweet malt and faint gingerbread. Body is medium with a soft, fizzy carbonation. Ends with more cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, pumpkin, gingerbread cookies and sweet malt.

This was a better than average pumpkin beer. Itís nose was on the light side as well as the overall pumpkin flavor. But it was still an easy drinking sweet brew.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2012 ~Sweet pumpkin pie aroma. Nutmeg, clove and caramel sweetness. ~Pours a deep orange red color with quickly disappearing off white head ~Nutmeg spice and clove in flavor followed by a caramel like sweetness. Sweetness is a bit cloying. ~med bodied with med CO2, lingering sweet finish with subtle spices. ~I dont care for the sweetness in this. Could only drink one of these before getting sick to my somach. Maybe go good with bird meat like chicken or turkey.

In the aroma, i get a lightly spiced pumpkin pie, definetly more of a pumpkin smell then other pumpkin beers I have had, Poured a clear orangish gold, head disappeared quickly leaving for a boring looking beer, Taste was very pleasant got a very nice mixture of pumpkin and spices, didnít overpower with spice like some others do. The finish was a little underwhelming, wish mouthfeel was a little thicker. Overall a very drinkable and tasty beer for the variety.

Definitely more subtle w/ the spice and better than your standard pumpkin ale. The orange color and short lived head on this clear brew are nothing to get excited about but it is definitely nice to have an ale w/ subtle spice that doesnít whack you over the head. Malts are up front in the nose w/ the spice more in the background though it comes out more when you taste it due to a subtle sweetness. This is a medium bodied brew w/ rather vigorous carbonation. I think it could do w/ a creamier texture but itís OK as it is. Of the pumpkin ales Iíve had in recent memory, this wins the award for the one Iíd most likely want to drink more than once.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is spicy and sweet, malty and a bit candy like. Cinnamon and nutmeg are the spices. Flavor is again spicy, and sweet, pumpkin pie but not overly rich or sweet. Bitter, slightly grainy and a bit boring in the finish but not offensive. Medium body and a sharper carbonation. Not bad for the style
