COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perennial favorite at our Brewery Halloween party, this reddish amber ale is perfect for fall. Real pumpkin adds a full body and sweetness, while deep roasted malts lend a toasty finish to this subtly spiced brew.

12oz bottle. Pours a darker brown than I would have thought, huge head, wonderful spicy nose. Flavor of caramel, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spices [duh], with nutmeg predominating. Pumpkin pie in a glass, OK? Nice beer.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2010 12oz bottle poured into a Lager glass at 42į. Color is a deep amber with great carbonation and a small tight head. Aroma of spicy pumpkin pie. Body is medium with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor is spicy with big nutmeg and a bit of coriander and cinnamon. After taste lets a bitterness come out and lingers with the spices. Overall its a bit too much for me, the spiciness is a little over powering.

Sample at the Sam Adams tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 9/9/10. Clear brown put with a thin beige head. Spicy cinnamon nose with ginger, allspice and brown sugar. Spicy and malty flavor with cinnamon and ginger and a bit of dryness in the finish. Flavor doesnít quite stack up to the nose, but still good.

12 oz bottle into tumbler. Bought the fall variety pack at Super I in Coeur dí Alene, Idaho. I usually wait to drink pumpkin beers until at least October, particularly around Halloween, but what the hey. Pours a deep bright red with a small head (Iím sure glad Iím not in bed for it is full of bread--sure am glad I donít have to work tomorrow instead). Has a small head that sticks around for a bit, then diminishes into a skim of foam with decent lace. Aroma is typical for this style--lots of nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon. Real pumpkin is also apparent, which is always nice. Some of the so-called pumpkin beers on the market have no pumpkin at all, just the spices that are traditionally baked into pumpkin pies. Taste is sweet and meaty, a little salty, with a tiny bit of bitterness and some sour that makes itself known in the finish. Carbonation is medium to high, body is medium-high to full. Overall, a very nice pumpkin beer.

Pours a deep amber with a thin light tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is of light earthy nutty malts but weak. Taste is a wonderfully complex blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and caramel malts with a lingering cinnamon flavor. The flavors are not overpowering and balance the beer nicely. I have not had any other of the pumpkin-style ales but this was a great start.

12oz bottle 9/8/10 (Binnyís Naperville-Sam Adams Harvest Collection Variety Pack)-50į in Lager Glass-Pours a clear copperish amber with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of pumpkin and spices. Taste of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. This medium bodied brew is really good. Great balance with the flavors. Wish they could make all their styles taste this good.

Part of the Harvest Collection. Ok this is was surprisingly good. Coppry pour with a nose of spice and (YEP PUMPKIN). Pumpkin taste with spice and caramel malts. I believe I tasted a hint of chocolate? Dry finish. A good Pumpkin ale.
