COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perennial favorite at our Brewery Halloween party, this reddish amber ale is perfect for fall. Real pumpkin adds a full body and sweetness, while deep roasted malts lend a toasty finish to this subtly spiced brew.

A: beautiful golden red. S: bready malts and pumpkin pie. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg here. T: smooth, creamy Marzen upfront, finishes with a moist pumpkin pie flavor. M: a bit syrupy, like a good Marzen should. A very smooth and drinkable feel. Not much booze to speak of. O: What a great brew! Not sure who all the haters of this beer are, but I think it's a great Marzen style beer with some delicious notes of pumpkin with all the right spices to make a great and very drinkable pumpkin ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear amber and good white head. Nutmeg, pumpkin and spices aroma. Taste is similar to aroma just lighter. Crisp and light. Good beer

Pours a clear brownish orange, with tan head. Aroma of pumpkin and spice. Taste is very much of pumpkin, and itís a bit more than I like. Still, a good example of the style. Thumbs up.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber color with a small head and spots of lacing. Aroma on nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin and bit of caramel. Taste of cinnamon, nutmeg, spice, caramel and bit of pumpkin. Mild bitterness and a spice finish. Moderate body and smooth feel but a bit much with the spices. Not a bad beer, but just another pumpkin beer.

Clear amber, caramel color with small light tan head, settling quickly with slight lace; smells of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, pumpkin caramel; the flavor I get a touch of roasty bitterness up front, followed by caramel, pumpkin, a sort of powdery spice quality, then mostly sweetness; the palate is medium-light, mouthfeel a bit watery. Overall, I think it needs more body, higher alcohol maybe... the flavors are all fighting each other.

bottle - Pours a clear amber/red with a smallish head. Aromas of pumpkin and caramel. Nice balance flavors of pumpkin, bread, and some spices. The more I drink, the less I like it.

Pumpkin taste dominates, little to no head. Sweet with a dry finish, not refreshing.

Clear dark mapley amber. Quick dissipating fizzy head. Fairly spiced, didnít find it overboard. Some nice enough pumpkin. Caramel. Toasty. Lighter bodied. A bit watery. Not overly sweet. Not much on the palate. Good drinkability. A very approachable but rather uninteresting pumpkin brew compared to what else is out there.

Hmm, Pumpkin Pie in a bottle. Malty, sweet, nutmeg, clove, etc. A pleasant and unique treat, but not something I would drink often.

Nice nutmeg and clove on the nose. Appearance is a clear amber with an off white head with ok head retention. Spices are subdued and balanced. Malt is biscuity with a light roast. Hop bitterness is just enough to balance the malt. Mouthfeel is medium-light with medium carbonation. Overall, it's a balance pumpkin ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The more Sam Adams beers I drink, the less I like them. This one was no exception, tons of spice in the aroma and extremely sweet taste. Not my cup of tea.
