A perennial favorite at our Brewery Halloween party, this reddish amber ale is perfect for fall. Real pumpkin adds a full body and sweetness, while deep roasted malts lend a toasty finish to this subtly spiced brew.

Bottle. Clear deep amber brown color with foamy tan head. Delicious aroma of dark roasty malts and nutmeg. Flavor was rich and smokey, with toasted and sweet caramel and brown sugar malts. CInnimon, pumpkin, vegetable, and nutmeg, and a smokey, almost peaty edge. Nice malty finish. Delicious!

This ale delivers a good but basic taste as one expects from Sam Adams. Consistently good, and with a surprisingly strong aroma of pumpkin and spices.

Bottle to shaker. This is the 2nd pumpkin ale I’ve rated this week. Pours ruby amber, nice but quick head, no lacing. Aroma of allspice, nutmeg, clove. Taste is very balanced with the sweetness of the malts and pumpkin levels out the bitterness of the spices. Medium bodied, medium-high carbonation, silky mouth feel. Finishes drier than expected with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pumpkin and roasted malt. Much better pumpkin beer than the first one I tried!

Appearance: this beer pours with a large tan head that settles into a nice density, the beer is a clear maroon color Aroma: malty, subtle pumpkin, spicy Taste: subtle pumpkin, some tanginess, hints of sweetness but not overly sweet Palate: lively carbonation, medium body, minimal aftertaste Overall: a pretty subtle beer, no big assertive flavors but some good subtle ones, I like it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not overly spiced, mild sweetness with some earthiness. Faint vanilla and a dash of pumpkin pie spice. Liked it because it was simple and not in your face palate wrecking with nutmeg and cinnamon.

aroma upon opening was clearly sam adams. the common denominator was there, not that that’s a bad thing. i found myself wanting a little bit more of a pronounced pumpkin presence, but this was arguably the most balanced beer of the ten, though it finished mid pack. kinda reminded me of a souped up version of their Octoberfest."

Poured a deep reddish amber with a modest head and lacing. Aroma was slight fruity and nutty with slight sweetness. Taste possess a maltiness with a moderate pumpkin and light spices. The finish was of mild hops. Palate was decent. Overall, a very good pumpkin ale.
