3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (5000) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 5, 2011Bottle:   Deep amber, moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Strong clove and nutmeg on the nose.   Similar tongue, very spicy I might add.   A little mealy on the backside.   A little bit of honeycomb like cereal too.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering clove and nutmeg, and maybe even some Bit O Honey like candy.   More flavorful than I thought it would be.   Not too shabby.   Thanks Bob!

My first Pumpin so dont really know what to expect....Herby and spicy aroma like from ground pepper etc. quite nice ruby dark copper colour, low head, getting down quickly, medium sweet start with bitter tones in the midlle but sweetness is dominating through all the beer, In the finish significant spicy flavour as well, soft carbonation, medium body, quite interesting beer, i may not appreciate it on the way i should, but good flavour ,any flavour not overbeating other so good stuff
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ejh8 (21) - - JUN 7, 2013
Good pumpkin beer. It's become one of my faves. Smooth with that taste of fall on the palate. A special brew alternative to traditional Octoberfests.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sammy (7120) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 14, 2013
Understated pumpkiness and carbonation from a few weeks past expiration date. Extra in trade, because I had missed its more limited distribution. Yellow orange bodied. Very drinkable, a bit saison like, and even appealing to sip by the ladies. Pumpkin at the end, its really the spices that was its appeal. Easy mouthfeel.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MacMoney (792) - Alabama, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark auburn brown with a large, yellowish-brown head. Aroma is very spicy: Loads of cloves and nutmeg as well as bitter orange peel, some cinnamon and ginger. The spices pretty much overpower any of the flavors coming from the malts or hops. Not being American and not being familiar with Thanksgiving or pumpkin pie, this reminds me of Christmas instead of Autumn. Taste is a lot of the spices as well. Cloves are the strongest flavor, but there’s nutmeg and bitter orange peel too. There some caramel and dark breadiness in the background. A light mixed fruit juice fruitiness and a light tough of herbal hoppiness on the finish. Palate is fairly light and quite high in carbonation. Not watery fortunately so this isn’t as bad a spice water as some Finnish supermarket strength Christmas beers tend to be.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Alextricity (177) - Chesterfield Twp., Michigan, USA - MAR 20, 2013
Appearance: Pours sounding like a highly carbonated pop with a nice orange colored head that quickly dissipates. No lacing.
Smell: Faint roasted malts and spice... maybe some of that pumpkin that’s supposedly in this beer. It’s really rather subtle. Not too shabby.
Taste/Feel: Thankfully, this is a pretty tasty beer. You definitely get a lot of malt on that first sip, as well as some spice, including cinnamon. The pumpkin is there, but it seems to be in the background. The one thing that irks me a bit is that the after taste coupled with the feel of the beer leaves seemingly an artificial taste on my tongue. What I REALLY don’t care for much is the feel... it seems a bit too watery.
Overall, a fairly disappointing beer from the Harvest Collection. It tastes pretty good, but the feel, look, and smell are lacking, leaving this as yet another average Sam Adams beer, in my opinion. Still wouldn’t mind throwing back a few for Fall.
